My TomTom GO Expert device exhibits a malfunction: the "G" key on the virtual keyboard registers a click but fails to input the letter. Despite contacting customer support, I have received no response. Furthermore, the purchased speed camera service is inoperable, consistently displaying the error message, "Sorry, we are facing some issues to show your subscription details. Please try again." This represents a failure to deliver paid-for services, compounded by the unresponsiveness of customer service.

I have bought this GO EXPERT 7". There were many disappointments with it. It finds almost nothing. Like Google map there are many companies but it is not possible to search for a company on TomTom. As well as famous places it does not find, but when put in Lattetud and Longetud and the name is on the map - why can't you search that place then? One thing why I wanted TomTom was for environmental zones! But when I put in weight and size and that it's a motorhome, it puts out ecozones that affect Trucks and Buses but not Car class 2 which is mine. So these ecozones it shows are unusable. Are the ecozones any that concern me? I don't know. Also I had to search quite a bit before I found how to set the sound volume. The natural thing was to point to the sound icon and then a volume sound slide would come up, but no, you have to go down into Settings and look around. How stupid if you want to, for example, quickly turn down the sound. I had waited me that you could run on a satellite image, but it's only the cartoon map. Many car parks for mobile homes are also missing from the map. With that price, you would have expected something good, but it turned out to be a very primitive navigator that doesn't do much good.

Going through this at the moment. Felt like an utter failure last week on first go. Doesn’t help with trainer shouting at you

Thanks for this. Few days in, only had to do this way once and made a pigs ear of it, rest of the time ive been able to do like you said, go through the bays and straighten up and reverse back. Im feeling more confident in things now tho, as they say, practice makes perfect. And you're right about when learning, all they teach you is how to drive on the roads, apart from the reverse and coupling. I asked my instructor if we can do some bay reversing, his response was, "no point, you will get taught then when you get a job" Well, ive got a job and had little teaching, two nights out with a fella who helped and gave me some pointers, now im out on my own. He did say i can rock up to the yard early before i start and have some practice. Really enjoying it tho, out again tonight, yard ive been to a couple of times, nice bunch, last drop of the night, might ask if i can go down a bit to some empty bays and have a sod about, im sure they will be ok.

Tom Tom is terrible don’t buy that navigation !! I use to love TomTom and it was the best nav for me because of the simplicity and design of menu, but they really gone bad because they don’t have user support and they don’t listen to their customers, they really doesn’t care what you think ! On new models you need to pay for everything, and you need to have speed camera subscription, but that doesn’t matter because for example in Germany is forbbiden by law to use that option so you can’t see where the speeding camera is so you always getting tickets for speeding (for 5km/h over you get around 50-60€ and all over Germany for trucks max speed is 80km/h and nobody is driving 80km/h so you are always getting tickets which is crazy, German laws are crazy, they wanna ripp you and TomTom is letting them do it) so it is useless to have subscription for speed cameras at least for me and now because of that reason and many others i will change my navigation system to Garmin !! And so much more is bad with TomTom i don’t want to get into all of that ! TomTom is really bad and don’t buy it…i would reccomend Garmin it is much much better navigation and more professional…

Hi Chris, thank you for the content, i'm 52, from the UK and always wanted to be a Lorry or Bus driver but for loads of reasons didn't take it up, mainly because I had a mortgage at the age of 21 and driving jobs didn't pay well back then. Is it worth my while persuing it now at my time of life? I currently have a one man band business supplying Office Stationery and Rubber Stamps online via eBay, Etsy etc. but it isn't going so well recently 😞 A couple of years ago I got my CPC and Drivers Card for 7.5t work but nobody will give me a chance as I haven't got one years experience! I feel like I am stuck in a loop.

If you have a problem, it’s virtually impossible to contact TomTom, their support is none existent. They get 90% one star in reviews.

I have been to many TESCO RDC And only tip I can give u is to avoid them like the plague

I used to drive for a Spanish company in Malaga pulling tilts to Calais return as a O/D. My FH16 700 was the best truck I ever had, 44t++ on the gradients in top gear at 100kph. It was a big step up from my previous FH13 500. I miss driving trucks but its now become a rat race to the bottom..

Is it your favorite navigator at the current time? Or is there some other that you prefer?
