What you gonna do - When the river runs dry Put your drills in the mud - Death up in the sky Should have saved those bottles - Should have saved those cans Shouldn't ought'a listen to the plastic man No more toilet papet - It's gone just like the trees Do you like the taste of honey - Isn't it best without the bees Be careful what you're doing - You're messing up my life And if all this world's a cake - Then you took too big a slice What's it all about - They scream and then they shout Don't ask me - Cause I don't know (I don't know) What's it all about - They scream and then they shout Don't blame me - I told you so Read it in the papers - You hear it in the news Very few listen - A spew without a view And is it really worth it - You're choking on remote I see the red tide coming - But we don't even vote Infection in the greenhouse - Dizzy in the clouds Oily as an ocean - Heaven disemboweled Planning on a future - Well lucky for some Develop your body - But your mind is still a slum What's it all about - They scream and then they shout Don't ask me - Cause I don't know What's it all about - They scream and then they shout (Well don't ask me) Don't blame me - I told you so (Middle-age) The product in the packaging Of multi-layered glam 150 layers of materials To cover up a sham Protecting my planet Wrap it in plastic This package is product Perfected eternal A crap in a cling wrap I never met yet a prime minister or president Who told the truth yet Swimming in the slurry Burning in the heat Wind blown is this weather I eat what you secrete I climb this highest derrick This circus has no prayer No UFO to save us And do we really care What's it all about - They scream and then they shout (Do we really care) Don't ask me - Cause I don't know What's it all about - They scream and then they shout Don't blame me - I told you so What's it all about - They scream and then they shout (No UFO to save us) Don't ask me - Cause I don't know What's it all about - They scream and then they shout (No fun, no religion) Don't blame me - I told you so What's it all about - They scream and then they shout Don't ask me - Cause I don't know What's it all about - They scream and then they shout (Climb this highest derrick) Don't blame me - I told you so Kiss goodbye to the Earth, the sun, the moon It's easy to deceive a child.

Could have been a major problem But I did not, I didn't look back And all you dirty druggies Chicken shit, Sad Sacks Rewriting history Tampering in my story Standing in my shadow But still so pale, so shallow Think tank, winner takes all, loser takes blank Think tank, burning off steam, loser takes blank Mother Nature's kind regards Balancing the house of cards Assuming and consuming Of the peg commodities The politics of common sense Violence as self defense Anomalies and metaphors The languages of lesser whores Think tank, winner takes all, loser takes blank Think tank, burning off steam, I'll let you dream Dream on I might not know much, but I know all this Did you think I would not notice? Dream on (Courtney) Love, loves money and delights in praise Easy money as a virtue, just watch it quickly fade And it could have been a problem But I did not, no, I don't look back Think tank, winner takes all, loser takes blank Think tank, burning off steam, loser takes blank Think tank, winner takes all, loser takes blank Think tank, burning off steam, I'll let you dream Dream on

It's so significant that The Clash's last reunion was at a charity event for firefighters and not any paid concert or festival. I love you so much Joe and Mick, thank you for this epilogue of the only band that matters

Fuck! To think I was working my arse off that same evening in a restaurant a couple miles away in Turnham Green (had just began working there so no dice about taking that busy Friday off!) and missed that very last glimpse of Mick and Joe together.

It was 1979 and I was looking for a certain album and I couldn't find it. I saw this one with a cool looking cover , so I bought it. Changed me forever. I became self aware if you can believe that. ...THE CLASH GIVE THEM ENOUGH ROPE

Apparently, Joe was looking to write another Clash album. So it would've have been massive if they'd done another tour. Trouble is, all that promotion would've brought out your fake Clash "celebrity's" fans up on the balcony or in the so called VIP backstage party. Anyway, with that said, it would've been much better than the Pistols reunion.

Never saw The Clash... was just too young. Still my band as well though. Would have done ALOT to have saw them but now im glad it is what it is. Saw Joe 3 times and Mick twice with BAD n Justice Tonight. Im happy with that. Glad Mick got up, that night, last London gig, benefit gig n those songs. Rather thats the way it was than The Clash getting back together... no matter how much it woulda meant to me selfishly at the time. Actually means More that The Clashs story is the way it is. They wouldnt be The Clash otherwise would they. Thats the most important thing. They done it right. Their story is superb, warts n contradictions n fck ups, fights, self destruction n all. They Had to... wouldnt be The Clash if it went any other way.

37 days later... He was gone. This public reunion gave credence to the rumour that Joe and Mick were working on writing new songs together, and had moved on from their differences - The lyric mentioned below " Are we going backwards, or are we going forwards?" was a poignant nod to that process. Thanks to the hero who filmed and posted this amazing piece of history!

He acts and thinks the exact same way today. People just see an overweight old man and higher quality camera and think "oh he's changed". No, he didn't. YOU changed. John Lydon still thinks YOU are a joke.

I was at this gig. Way too many drunk people looking for trouble + incompetent 'security' guys = always a recipe for this kind of shit. What you are actually seeing is: 3:11: fan climbs on stage 3:13: Lydon knocks/pushes him back off the stage 3:14: Lydon's mate Rambo rushes in to handle the situation, but Lydon himself has already taken care of the problem, so Rambo walks back. 3:17 Security guys climb on stage, thinking Rambo is the guy who 'attacked' Lydon. They want to beat up Rambo, but Rambo hits faster. 3:2O Fight between the security and the roadies/Rambo/Lydon breaks out (while Jones, Cook & Matlock continue playing without missing a beat 🙂 ) 3:25 Lydon hits one of the security guys in the back of his head (with his mic) 3:30 Heavily bleeding security guy tries to get back off stage, stumbles around. 3:38 Security guy goes down 3:48 Knocked out security guy is carried off on a stretcher by the other security guys. 4:26: Lydon: 'Excuse me for that. This is what happens when security takes their job too seriously' THE END
