"I AM Johnny Rotten, of course I enjoy being me....you silly boy" He's the most smart and fascinating person I've ever seen....as he said, a real genius :)

John would've been a good history teacher. He would've been that "cool" but strict as fuck teacher who students love to work hard for because he's so awesome and cares about them and his job. I could totally envision this as his alternate career if he had never been discovered by Malcom McLaren.

Boring hippies? The Hippie movement was one of the most interesting movements in social and rock & roll history. Just look at the 60's and early 70's. Interesting and exciting fucking times those were.

Good point. On the other hand, they were around a little bit before punk became fashionable. The ramones, for example, were around before people even started using the term "Punk"

every good interview i've seen of lydon is where the interviewer is just straight and not patronising or scared of him. he is fantastic to watch because he's so unpredictable but sharp as a razor

Punk started dressing as it does today after the initial wave or actual punks. The original punks wore ripped clothes and saftey pins and shit because they actually had no money to buy new clothes. The "Punk" clothing we see today is not the same, because they aren't wearing clothes like that out of need, but out of fashion. The original "Punk" look died once it becamse fashionable to look like you had no money. but that's just my opinion, people may argue against it (:

I don't know if any one else would agree but I feel that Mindless Self Indulgence is kind of living by the "punk" ideal. At least on John's terms: Do whatever you want, don't be like everyone else. Sure, MSI are semi-popular now but I still think they always rocked the shit out of what they did which is definitely not typical. That's just me. Lydon should start his own religion--but I guess he kinda already did lol xo

@MartinPurvis Yeah, I was kinda horrified when I saw that vid too. Since Rotten is such a righteous force I now have no choice but to reevaluate my position on Gaga.
