Those were the last good Range Rover apart from the last and dreaded LSE , the first one to have air suspension . The P38 was disasterous from the start , the L322 started iffy but got better on Ford money , the 2007 to 2009 tdv8 being regarded as the most reliable Range Rover yet and the last competant true offroader too , the L405 is an electonic nightmare and the L460 we are waiting to see how bad it is .

you can use canola oil instead of diesal. then your car will smell better not a joke. the creator of diesal engines , intented the engines to be run on vegitable oil that you can make in your farm Diesal is for torque. not top speed nor accelerations. if you want fun get petrol engines. not diesal engine if you want pulling power get the diesal.

A lot of people here talk about how the old Top Gear was and the young Jeremy Clarkson but what I find interesting is that back then an extra 300/900 pounds on a new car was considered very expensive.

38.7p per litre...those were the days. You'd be lucky to find petrol for less than £1.45 per litre now...and that's with 10% ethanol they add into it, so it's not even _pure_ petrol. Back then, I could fill up my motorbike for a fiver, but these days _modern_ petrol would slowly melt the guts out of the carburettor.

All this effort, all this engineering only to realize that Americans were increasingly demanding luxury SUVs. Toyota was selling their Land Cruiser and 4Runner with significant profits at this time, and played it smart to have Lexus come into the luxury SUV market early. Now, Lexus would not be around in the US if not for their RX and GX SUVs keeping them afloat.

One of my favourite bands of all time is a band called The Cars, they were fairly popular but in the 80s. I just listened to “You Might Think” by them and then this… whoever wrote the soundtrack MUST have also been a fan of The Cars 😂 go listen, you’ll hear it immediately

My dad bought it as 2nd car in 1995 and i started driving it in 2000, really fun to drive car. It was cornering good but with big inclination, making everyone scared when driven fast inside the city. It could easily do 120+km on highway with 5 young adults , braked were ok but in city traffic it was hard to accelerate with other cars. Engine was old and noisy, once my headgasket burned while trying to climb a mountain but slim wheeles made it go on show further than other cars. After some time engine started making tapping noise in cold start but you get used to it. Overall a good car for city driving for its time, it was the smallest car so you could park in places noone else could.

It took a while, 30 years more or less, but eventually we have turned the corner, life is good. The car industry has been reduced to manufacturing parts for foreign car makers though, there's not a single Polish car being produced right now and prospects for change in that regard are rather bleak. Oh well, almost all of what we've produced since the dawn of motoring were licensed models anyway, just o couple of them were original Polish designs. We've never had luck in that departament, it's high time to come to terms with it. There are many nations that don't make their own cars and it's totally fine.

Hey man, if you have full or partial old Top Gear episodes you should seriously consider submitting them to the Top Gear Community Project. It's an on-going attempt to archive as much content as possible. It's worth checking out.
