I got the Indian Ocean green one, again, I do like it but at the end of the day, it is still a plastic toy watch to me( expensive). I don’t wear as much because I am afraid to get scratches.

you can find the same Watch Dial or the same watch at lower price, around 230 dollars at Karl Leimon. a japonese company by two students who wanted to make classic watches with a affordable price. the difference bewtween Carl F. Bucherer moonphase and Karl Leimon moonphase is that one is automatic and one is qartz movement.

I've been on the fence for one of these for a while now. The bracelet is really nice expect for being pins and lacking half-links or micro adjustment. Also, the tiny sub-seconds hand is funny to watch, and as a complete calendar you still have to adjust the date 5 times a year. (I hope you figured this out before buying the winder. Even a true annual calendar needs adjusted for March 1st.) As the same base ETA 7751 movement is used for the Speedmaster with 3606 movement, I'd be more inclined to get that instead. Still, a great value - getting a complete calendar and column-wheel chronograph for under $4k.

I like Tudor but I’d not compare it to. Datejust. It’s got no date and the it has what would be the most unpopular configuration of datejusts being smooth bezal and jubilee. Oyster and flutes, oyster and smooth or jubilee fluted.

So I’m really thinking about purchasing my first luxury watch and I came across this Tudor at my local Alson’s and thinking about pulling the trigger but don’t know if it’s worth it…..for it to be wrapped gold (which is basically gold filled) at that price point it doesn’t seem practical. If the band was just wrapped but the bezel and crown were actual gold I can understand but idk man

It's sad that watches that look good cost over 1k+. *amzwatch* watches are REALLY well made, and it just shows how a brand name on a watch can make its price 10x higher. I understand that if you look under a microscope, you'll find the difference, but just how many of you really inspect a watch at that level when you see someone with a watch?

You can get a *amzwatch* super clone for $300 or so and it will be indistinguishable from the real thing to 99.999% of people. The clones just keep getting better. The only reason to prefer a real one is if you want to support a big company. The best way to go about it is to buy the stainless steel models and buy a watch that matches your lifestyle. Another plus is if you travel with it you don't care to let it go if you're going to get mugged or if you lose it.

I own both watches and the Rolex Pepsi is the one that spends more time on my wrist by far because the difference is personal for each person. Spending time with a Rolex Pepsi is like spending time with the girl in high school I could never get vs spending time with the Tudor is like hanging out with a girl that is finally happy she was asked out. Rolex is special nonetheless Tudor is still worth my time.

Finally bought one today. Worth more than the MSRP. Makes me wonder the profit margin on Swatch watches

So darker red isn't red? You prefer a brighter more vibrant red. That is perfectly valid, but you could of just said that instead of claiming shades of red aren't red in your clickbait title. Plum is much more purple, this seiko is not plum, even burgundy or wine is slightly more purple. Maroon would be fair. You and your wife, as you said you ran it by her, should look at a color palette for reference.

The Seiko red looks classier than the Tudor red.

The black one looks nicer. I have a red Islander that beats this watch all day long value wise.

I don't understand the hate... unless you're the person who paid for the Rolex and don't like that there are copies of it out there, this is a unique watch, it's actually made in La Choux de Fonds, French area of Switzerland. It uses a Swiss Sellita movement! (As you pointed out, Tudor uses the *SAME* movement in their Black Bay and apparently other models). For 500 bucks, you are getting a professional/heirloom level watch! I guess I can see the hate from people who dropped a cars worth of cash on one of the Rolex's. I'm sorry, but they have just priced themselves out of the market. I don't care how good their watch is, at the end of the day, it tells time and the day and sits on your arm, that's it. I mean and Omega Speedmaster, an amazing chrono, is $3,500. why on earth would anyone pay Rolex 15k for a watch that there are many clones/homages of and have nearly the same quality movement?
