This goes to show that here in Britain we are still in transition when it cames to metric conversion, (leather about 3 to 4mm thick by 2 inches long) I'm in my 60s and I do the same, metric and imperial on the same job. I suppose that as the youngsters grow up never having used inches it'll stop, by the government are not helping, we still use miles on the roads.

Hi Matthew, just watched you tying the olive apps worm and want to tie some up. Can you please tell me where you buy the olive beads and what size they are?. Thanks Steve

Is there a way to attach a braided leader to your fly line without going loop to loop
@HMFlyFishing Жыл бұрын
No to be honest loop to loop is the only way. If it was a polly leader then you could strip the leader to the core and needle knot it on

Got a 6wt years ago but sold my 6wt rod before trying to cast it. Had a dabble on my 7wt Scott S3s and it sucked so put it on the shelf thinking it was garbage. Then today I put it on my new 906 Scott Centric now expecting much and is blown away! Incredibly sweet casting line! Mega distances, delicate delivery and just pure pleasure being able to airialise that much line with ease. Tried a few SH spey casts and it did that with class too.

loved watching paul youngs programmes, he was'nt a fishing superstar but an ordinary angler who loved his fishing, no self praise or whooping and cheering like matt hayes, paul genuinely enjoyed his days on the water and gave us all a lot of pleasure and is a really nice down to earth bloke....and was great as shug in still game, mothers pride, best ae gear, get it up yi 🤣

Great Review------I was given a Greys XF2 Streamflex 9 ft. 3 wt. fly rod for my retirement years ago. I broke the tip section recently on a fishing trip---made me sick---I have been trying to find a company that will sell me a new tip section with no success--do you have the name of a company that will sell me another tip section?----This is the best lightweight fly rod I've ever used and hate to lose it because of the break. Thanks for your help in this matter

The only chance is to contact Hardy Greys and ask them but I think you will struggle - best of luck

*I was pleased with Trilene mono line **enjoyable.fishing** recommend performance (25 lb. test) because it offers smooth casting with no tangles/bird's nest in the spool. And, knots can be tied effectively with ease. I would recommend.*

Tandy leather has chamois. I scrape the leather and make the piece thinner so it has more movement. Works well in the winter on the San Juan, NM.

Daft question, why tie in the tails on the way up from the bend when you have to go hand over hand, when you could just tie them in just behind the bead and stretch them on the way down to the bend? Same result but less faff, or am I missing a trick somewhere? Cheers

That's good to know the little dab of super glue for a long time Iv only ever used the long braided loops thay hold well by themselves. Just today my order arrived from John Norris and i had some roman moser loops and fly lines and thaught how compact there must be a different way to put them on saved by you help thank you.
@HMFlyFishing3 жыл бұрын
They are the best loops to be honest and just that dab of superglue will save you heartbreak!! Tight Lines Hywel
