What month is this? Do you hv to wait until the roads are clear of snow to get access?
@ofishaladventurer447023 күн бұрын
@benjavier8262 This was during Late Spring around April or May 2024. The roads are still accessible even when there is snow. You will have to carry snow chains when there is snow on the roads or CHP will write you a citation. You can always check conditions on Shaver Lake's live cam as well.

It just amuses me the quest and mentality of some fisherman, you have to paddle the boat, steer, set downrigger x2 and reel in net fish, your like a monkey fu*king a football, no full control, my 2cts

@237311 Rod: TICA 8'0 Klea Series Rod. Reel: Okuma Convector Low Profile Line Counter Reel. I use a variety of color of paulina peak tear drop dodgers and hoochies. Just got to figure what color they want and then tip the hooks with corn.

Nice fish i’m new to trolling what were you using in this video and how should i start off?
@ofishaladventurer44707 ай бұрын
I suggest investing in a decent fish finder that has gps feature to be able to see your speed and being able to mark fish. Next would be getting some hoochies or spinners in different colors to match it with dodgers. Using, snap weights is a good way to get your gear down to depth and it's inexpensive.

I use both. I use a scotty lake troller for my downrigger with a 4lb ball and snap weights from 1 oz to 6 oz of weight to reach my desire depths.

Any tips on fishing for Kokanee / trout at shaver lake from shore? I’m headed there next Friday
@ofishaladventurer44708 ай бұрын
Never caught kokanee from shore, I've always trolled for them. For trout, powerbait in rainbow and garlic always worked for me. For lures, gold kastmaster, gold thomas buoyant, and joe flies usually catches me trout.

I may give it a try next week. Have you ever tried to find them and jig for them? It can work out well sometimes for me. Nice fish, great video.

It started to warm up a bit so it wasn't too bad. I have jigged for them before but It's been more effective trolling for them from my experience.
