Here I am sitting here in 2024, watching this. Tears streaming down my face, because for some strange reason, this American, with Britsh lineage, feels the sadness, still. She was one of as kind. RIP .

That’s spine tingling. The piercing notes of the pipes with the drums beating along like their heartbeat. I should not use the phrase below to describe this video out of respect but I can’t think of another. Fucking Hell This has fuck all to do with any political or independence rants. Respect isnt something we all have in abundance when it gets political. This is why I’m proud to be British as she got the same respect in Edinburgh from the public as she made her way through the Royal Mile to rest in St Giles cathedral before her coffin was flown to London for the funeral. 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴 A divided country is caused by politicians and none of them have any respect for any of us. And they don’t even have any self respect. They only care about themselves and their lies.

As an American with no English descent… wow. What a send off for HM Queen Elizabeth II. Bagpipes, drums, and synchronization in the whole ceremony. I came back here to watch this because frankly, I can’t imagine being so incredibly important to garner such a truly impressive display of respect that really can’t even be replicated anywhere in the world.

I have a shameful admission to make - As someone who has served in Her Majesty's R.N. I have only just noticed that the Hat Ribbons of the ratings pulling the gun carriage and braking party say "Royal Navy" instead of their Ships' name's. Good job no-one relies on me for Defence anymore.

Wrong in every particular. It wasn't for her but for us left behind. To say goodbye, and to raise our game a bit... Maybe you think the lovely 2020s are TOO rich in beautiful spiritual unified dignified meaningful peaceful true things to make it necessary to have yet one more?!?!? She was indeed dead ... I will grant you that. But those of us with faith do not see death as the end, it has no sting. And many millions of people in a secular country and secular world had no doubt and no shame in saying that somewhere she was "looking down on us". As a Born Again person, I am not even sure I see it that way, but many, many, many people did. What's in the coffin is just the earthly remains, but what's in the procession and lining the streets and watching on TV is a LOT more. Without that we have absolutely nothing at all...

Nothing beats bagpipes at a funeral. Especially a state funeral. There's just something extremely haunting about a state funeral with bagpipes. It's actually better than a funeral march song because from a distance you can hear it, sounding like a marching army but instead it's an army carrying their fallen leader to rest.
