You probably already know this but Onefinity sells a replacement z motor with a brake so the spindle will not fall when powered off. You then will have a spare motor for the other axis.

Nicely done, and I'm sure they will be pleased in the way you designed the box to honor their grandfather. Please don't take this as a negative, it is just a question of, perhaps, logistics: With the two exotic woods, they each have their own characteristic color. At the end of the video when you're showing the final product, I can't see the difference between the woods. They look the same to me. Perhaps it is the way your camera's sensor converted the image, but just wondering about that. As expensive as each species is, them being different should 'pop'. Again, great job and I'm hopeful it is just the camera sensor and not the oil that made them look the same (at least to me in the video).
@Pleasant_Woodworks4 ай бұрын
The Purple Heart had sap wood in it which the oil brought out but in person you can definitely tell the difference. All comments are welcome.

Have seen a few of your videos and your thoughts seem really valuable to me. I'm now sold on the PWNSPINDLE, thank you. Quick question, did you even consider the ALTIMILL from SIENCE LABS? I'm still struggling with that choice and would like your thoughts please?
@Pleasant_Woodworks4 ай бұрын
Honestly I only considered Onefinity, Shapeoko, and inventables. I considered my budget, assembly, reputation, stability, maintenance, build quality, and more. Onefinity checked all the boxes and the capability of the Masso on the elite is just an amazing bonus.
@104Tomcat4 ай бұрын
@@Pleasant_Woodworks Thanks for the reply. How long have you had yours? Sounds like your happy with it. Any things you wish you could improve on it? I'm considering the Shapeoko, the Altmill and the Onefinity Elite and you have just "ticked" one more box for the Onefinity. THANK YOU!

The only thing I would change is if I had saved a bit longer and gotten 220v installed in my garage I would have gotten a 220 spindle. What I have works just fine but I think I could run it a bit faster if it didn’t draw too much power. I have stalled it twice. I’m assuming that was the issue or my feed rate was too fast.
