Restart your phone and problem solved, I had the same problem and I solved it by turning off my phone and when I turned it on everything worked normally

Same issue I had then I found out DJI fly is opened on my iPad. I had to close the app on iPad then I was able to connect it to my Phone.

The drone does not go back to where it came from because that drone follows where the remote is. If you put the remote where the drone came from, the drone stalls. The drone climbs to where it came from.

Was just experiencing same issue. One article I found mentioned if it was a new battery or hadn't been used in awhile. It had me push the power button, let go and then immediately hold down again for 2 seconds. As goofy as it sounds, that is what just worked for me.

I did it by connecting with the wifi of the drone and tried to activate without pressing 3 seconds to start the connexion and it worked.

I had the same exact issues as you. I went through all your comments and tried everything that everyone said to do. I did everything over and over and over again connecting reconnecting network settings reset and forgetting networks and bringing them back up. I was going to send it back and then thought I would try to connect it to my iPad. It worked! Maybe the Neo has issues with Android

If you think that is a malfunction? Try flying it in the dark with the motion controller but make sure you’re inside when you do it or you may lose your drone.

I had one 20 min of good flying after that almost flew away this time i lost any control it went about 700 feet up and full speed south 😢.

I am thoroughly unimpressed with dji. Firstly, they excluded my phone, Huawei, from using the dji fly app. Then so many, including myself have this connection problem. I am trying to connect via a tablet without a sim card, but robertkom suggests this will not work since a cellular connection is required. What a bloody shambles!

Hi, make sure you’re using mobile data from your network provider and disconnect from all your home Wi-Fi connections on your phone. I had the same issue.
