as long as your truck does that now, it will do it after the conversion as well.

no codes, as our adapters and HID components are designed to work with the truck without the use of any programming.

@@Stokely13 this is a very old video, the adapters are different than what is shown in the video. But yes, the resistors are built into the adapters.

@ yeah I searched and saw this video. I’m doing a retrofit myself and was curious as I have access to AlfaOBD and having my 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel recognize HID. I’m trying to find out if I can bypass any Morimoto harness or resistors and pretty much make my HID kit even more plug and play for my truck

I have a 2017 sport with factory led. I like the painted ones. Can you do them in the factory sublime green? I would like to buy a set. You can also use alphaobd to change the setting from led to halogen and vice versa

I have a 21' 2500 with the halogen tail lights. I want to swap them out to these factory LEDs. I see the harness you showed for my year has NO resistors. Will the BCM need flashed or is it plug and play with just the harness adapters? Thanks

using our XP0087 (19-23) HD adapter - no resistors are needed or BCM updates. The 24+ version (not shown here, as it was just released) - will come with a resistor.

@RetroShopLights Do the red brake LEDs stay lit even when the turn signals are on sitting at a red light with your turn signal on? Just curious if somehow you figured out how to make the brake light drop out, without the BCM reprogrammed.

If my truck is a tradesman and I want to install led (Laramie or limited) tail lights do I need the adapter? (21 Cummins tradesman) don’t want spot monitoring just the lights. TIA

yes, you will need the adapters for your tradesman, if it came with incandescent tails.

Yes, especially now! Years ago when we did this video - the cost difference on the TYC vs OEM was about $250......its WAY different now. OEMs have skyrocketed. TYC & Retrofit is the way to go!

These are RGBWA - controlled via bluetooth with an app. Wiring, depends on the truck. TRX has AUX switches, that is the easiest way to install and power these.

So awesome! In your experience, can you tell a difference in brightness between the NLN ucs2903 strips and the Glowe Led strips?? Im thinking about a tail light application where brightness is a priority. I have some ucs2903 strips but i keep seeing videos and pics of the Glowe stuff which looks insanely bright. Thanks, love your work !

The UCS strips will be better in the tail light application. The Glowe strips are great, but from a brightness standpoint, the UCS2903s are better.

Does the hid bulb wire face up or down?

the HID return wire normally should be at the 6PM position. You will find in the OEM projectors, they will not do this - as Ram cocked the bulbs at an angle. Pass side will be around the 8 spot, drivers at the 4 (ish)

In Europe, the rear turn signals and brake lights for the new RAM trucks with full LED tail lights are separated. The brake lights are on top and the turn signals are at the bottom.

Yup! I've had a few of the Euro tails at the shop. I like how that is set up, but for some reason the reverse lights are only half of what the US spec trucks get. Odd!

Hey.....when the wife doesn't like bronze accents, but loved the blue on her prior 4Xe.....well, you change out all of the badging! 🤣 I will admit, its funny when someone sees the blue, then the 392 badge on the hood......you can see the wheel starting to spin in their head.
