All I know is that they all sounded way off to me. I never learned the notes but if it's off from how I originally heard it I immediately recognize it's not right and point out where. Fur Elise and Alla Turca sounds wrong to me.

You're using a high end Kawai, a great piano for sure. But it sounds hard and has a honky tonk sound to it. Is it tuned? It sounds like one of those three strings comprising most of the keys is a little off. Is it small, under 7'? Sometimes 6' grands can sound strained, especially in the lower midrange where they lack the body of a larger instrument. Maybe the mic is low quality? Maybe the room is very resonant and is amplifying parts of the upper midrange contributing to ear fatigue? Apparently walls of books helps a lot as their irregular shape breaks up standing waves. Carpet also helps but I see an area rug there. Maybe you need more floor covering. I listened to your Steinway video and it had none of these problems. But it was in a bigger space which always helps. Grand pianos can easily overpower a small room and this is often a problem in home installations. It usually seems to be necessary to treat the walls/floor/perhaps the ceiling to smooth out those standing waves (frequencies that are amplified by the dimensions of the room). Some people throw a dense blanket over the piano after closing it up. Grand pianos are a fickle monster to tame in small spaces! Especially challenging if someone else in the house is controlled by HER standards of aesthetics.....:) Though few people object to books. They do have unpredictable colors though.

From going so slow in the Chopin Ballad to the bullet train with this. Tempo has a function. it sets mood. When we ignore the original it's very hard to capture the mood the composer intended. Your technique is very good, effortless control. This may be the problem. Because you can you do. It's like listening to someone playing a little out of breath. The music can't breathe as it wants to. Phrasing can't complete with resolution the way it naturally would. Breathe deeply and try it a little slower and see the difference. Use a metronome to get things back on track because you're wavering and Beethoven has low tolerance for that if it's not a slow movement. It's Beethoven, not Ravel, Chopin or Liszt. We just don't have the rhythmic latitude we have with some composers. And please get a better mic. It sounds like it's overloading. Maybe it's too close to the strings? You have tremendous potential. Your warmth captures Beethoven very well. It's not easy but you get it. One of the few.

That was the slowest beginning ever played in the history of piano playing of this piece. Sorry but it sounded so ponderous. You need to keep things going at a faster tempo in the beginning where the lighthearted tone is set which will be contrasted later with the brooding nature only Chopin can illicit out of this 88 key instrument. Playing it faster will bring out other aspects of the music I don't hear here as well. Tempo is important.

Is this real? The jacket isn't moving nearly enough for the speed, and the motion blur is fake, just look at the reflection in the piano, but I might be wrong, I'm not a professional debunker or anything lol, but even if the speed is a bit fake, the fact he got the notes right is insane! good job dude, good job.

I don't have perfect pitch, but any experienced musician can tell that these songs were not played in the right keys lol. I'm probably wrong but if I had to guess, I would say they are all either a semi-tone or a whole-tone higher than the original key.
