Great work. I am working on a Yale GDP080 with wet brakes that is losing ATF, internal leak. What could the issue be? Already replaced the master but didn’t resolve the issue.
@jupdagstv2 ай бұрын
Change the brake chamber assembly or just rebuild the brake chamber. 100% sure it’s the brake chamber leaking. as long as no external leak.

What was wrong with the wet brakes that they needed to be replaced? Working on one of these and the brake is locking up and the only way to get them to release is to open the bleader valve.
@jupdagstv4 ай бұрын
You might have problem on your master. The problem on the video was internal leak losing brake fluid/ ATF all the time
@twoaxisАй бұрын
This problem often occurs with old brake hoses. The brake fluid under pressure gets to the cylinders, however, when the pressure is released, the hoses lock up and the pressure remains on the brake cylinders

I worked for a company that bought fleets of lift trucks. The yales with mazda engines after sitting extended periods the carbon on intake valve would loosen up and fall off. Then try to start the intake valve being open would push air back into intake. No start. The method i found to get runing for me is pull pcv hose and spray starting fluid in hose. Once running the carbon would break up and run normally. I have pulled intake and picked the carbon off re install ran good. Just wondering if you ever noticed this? My job mostly was condition reports

Is it just me? The old shoes looked like they had a lot of pad left. So glad I saw this video. It looks basically the same as some big GM drum brakes - basically. I would have liked a bit of narration but honestly, good camera angle and very thorough. Thank you for posting this. Seems like 90% of used forklifts for sale say "needs brakes" in the ad so I've been wondering what I'd be getting myself into. This video was very helpful. Thanks.

Been a fork truck engineer for 24 years now, main supplier of Yale and Hyster trucks. I used to remove carriage assy and then complete mast assy and split it flat on the ground but damn it's a lot of work until I was shown this exact way. As long as you use correct chains etc to lock off and secure mast assy before removing any mounts/brackets then you are all good... So much easier this way.. nice work dude... 👍👍

@@dakotaalexander9292 you are 100% correct, it is the correct way and safer to do it flat on the floor, but it is much easier and quicker to do it with the mast still on the truck...

Nice job... just some tips.. Spray down the piston and cap with brake cleaner before assembly and blow with air to remove any grit that may be present. Also lots of grease is good at assembly. After screwing down the gland cap, rotate the rod several revs to seat the o-rings and seals/remove ripples in the o-rings.

@@alexm8922 no biggie, raise the forks, support with a 2x4. Just crack the fill bolt on the front of the diff and fill untill fluid comes out. Let the excess flow out and screw the plug back in. Just like a cars manual transmission, gearboxes etc.. with that tutorial complete.
