may i ask what’s the tuition yearly? for on campus
@henlynch2 ай бұрын
for an on-campus out-of-state student it's about $60k yearly including a meal plan and room/board, but in-state it's about $32k. I got a substantial scholarship which played a big role in my choice to attend

@@henlynch off-topic, but I am transferring to a university in a state that snows. I have never lived in a state that snows before, and I was just wondering, would regular tennis shoes hold up in snow? I don’t think so but i’m not sure. I think I would have to get other shoes. but yeah I was kind of just wondering what snow shoes do you recommend?

In the second semester at UVM, Henley's vlog did thrive, A tapestry of tales, where myriad experiences arrive. Amidst the snow-capped mountains and crisp Vermont air, Her journey unfolds, with tales both bold and fair. In her dorm, toothpaste tubes stood tall, companions of the night, As oil paintings adorned the walls, casting shadows of delight. Rowing down the stream of academia, she embarked, Navigating currents of knowledge, with dreams unmarked. The snow, a blanket of purity, adorned the campus ground, A canvas for her adventures, where mysteries abound. Amidst the whispers of marijuana smoke, and laughter's glee, Henley found solace, in the tapestry of her reality. In a snood thing of comfort, she braved the winter's chill, A shield against the biting frost, a warmth that did instill. With serum coursing through her veins, a Covid booster bold, She faced the challenges of the pandemic, with courage untold. In the halls of academia, where minds converge and soar, Bernie Sanders' legacy echoed, a beacon forevermore. His spirit of resilience, his fight for equity, Inspired Henley's journey, towards a future she could see. In the midst of LGBTQ+ oppression, voices rose, Henley stood in solidarity, against the shadows that impose. With empathy and understanding, she lent her heart and ear, Creating spaces of acceptance, where all could draw near. Thus, in the tapestry of Henley's vlog, a portrait grand, A testament to resilience, in a world where dreams expand. Through toothpaste and oil, rowing and snow, Her journey at UVM, a story to behold.

Dear Henley, As I watched your college move-in vlog, my heart swelled with pride and joy. Seeing you embark on this new chapter of your life fills me with excitement for all the adventures that lie ahead. Your mom's love and support shine through in every frame, a testament to the incredible bond you share. Cherish these moments together, for they are the threads that weave the fabric of your journey. And oh, that little dog logo on your coffee cup! It brought a smile to my face, reminding me of the small delights that make life so sweet. As you settle into your new surroundings, remember that you carry with you the love and encouragement of your family. May this next chapter be filled with growth, laughter, and countless blessings. With all my love, Grandma

It's tough to see someone else living out the college experience you had hoped for, especially when it's a school like UVM. Watching this vlog brings back a mix of emotions for me - nostalgia for my own move-in day, but also a tinge of disappointment that things didn't work out the same way for me. Wishing you all the best on your journey, Henley, and hoping that your time at UVM is everything you've dreamed of.

It's understandable to feel disappointed when thing's don't go as planned, but remember that setbacks are opportunities for growth. Reflecting on what went wrong and how to improve for next time is key. Keep pushing yourself, Henley, and don't let this setback discourage you. Your determination will carry you through to better results in the future.

good luck with colby!! and you betcha, minding that ECs and essays go a very long way. but i got a 32 ACT and 1460 SAT (submitted both), like a 3.7UWGPA with like 2 C+s in there so i think that def hurt me a bit. my top ECs were volunteering for a climate advocacy nonprofit, captain of my hs quiz bowl team, and a program i did between jr/sr year where i did a research project on a WWII vet from my state through National History Day. hope that gives you a better idea 😁

Hi Henley. My daughter is a high school senior applying to colleges and UVM is #1 on her list. My understanding is that Juniors and Seniors at UVM have to live off campus. How are you navigating that? Does the school help with the off-campus housing search at all?
@henlynch Жыл бұрын
hi, great question! UVM has had several information sessions on how to access off-campus housing however, quite honestly, i have not attended them myself. the school is building new housing which should be available by my senior year a.k.a. two years from now and i reaaaaally hope that doesn't mean increasing class sizes 😖 i got lucky and have a place for junior year

Are the parties good at uvm?
@henlynch Жыл бұрын
good question! i'd say it's pretty variable depending on where you go, but it's important to note that uvm is NOT a party school. frat parties are as you expect but on maybe a smaller scale, but i think the best ones are thrown by the sports teams although these can be more difficult to get into if you don't have a contact on the team. basement concerts are also fun but they're always byob and there's usually a door cover. hope this helps!

Hey! I am considering UVM as an option for my exchange semester, it actually looks dope from what I see on the Internet. Do you by any chance have any info related to my situation? Do you know people who came to UVM just for a semester (I come all the way from Europe so I really need to know I will get at least as much as I invest in this because it is a loot) And a more specific question - how do you join all these adventurous clubs + do you have to pay extra for them (they all look so fun but I am scared I won't be able to afford them)?
@henlynch Жыл бұрын
i do know students who have come for just a semester or a year, and they seem to have a good time! there's an international student club on campus, and joining clubs even as an exchange student doesn't seem to be a hindrance (I know someone from Australia who joined our club rugby team). some clubs, like sports, have a cost associated with them, but many are completely free! and even the ones with costs can receive financial assistance just by talking to the club leaders. it's all very case-by-case, but definitely an option worth considering :)
