This is the closest video I have been able to find visually on what I want to build for my horse run in shelter with attached tack room. I want to build a covered hey storage on the back side. I'm curious why you didn't backfill post holes with cement? Where I live we have insane winds and it actually lifted my neighbors lean to 15 feet off the ground! Was curious if at the depth you place your posts if cement is still necessary. Gorgeous work!
@KoalityofLifeАй бұрын
Thank you. My posts are 2 foot deep, as far as backfilling with cement I didn't see a need for it. We do get 20 mph winds in my area on occasion but I have a lot of trees around to block most of the wind. Cementing posts into the ground usually leads to trapped moisture that leads to rotten posts. If high winds are a problem in your area I would pour a concrete footing for your posts to be lag bolted to. Lots of different ways to build depending on what the building will be used for, the type of soil in the area, and the weather in the area. Thanks for watching. :)

Do you have to use the Concentric exhaust, or can you have the intake and the exhaust on their own pipe?

If you want the intake to pull air from outside I believe you have to use this exhaust, however, if you want to pull air from inside you can run a separate exhaust. It's all explained in the instructions that I cant find at this point. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. :)

Did you ever burn those slash piles you piled up? Cannot find the video woulda been so satisfying to see that. Also Im a pro forester, your pines are still too thick. Consider getting them machine thinned, tho I believe contractors in the US do a lot of sketchy shit with your timber so make sure to get it all in the contract. Just like fyi for that sized timber there should be like 900-1100 pines per hectare so your pines roughly a third/quarter leaving the forest would be beneficial for the timber staying there. Also the pine quality in some of your stands is quite poor so if you do get it thinned out make sure they take SMALL and POOR quality ones. otherwise youre going to be left with poor quality timber stand, though it would still be healthier than the current stands you have.
@KoalityofLifeАй бұрын
I agree there is a lot of pine trees still standing on my property but we have pine beetles in our area that are killing trees left and right. It takes over a year for the tree to die and there's no good way of knowing what trees have beetles in them until the tree starts to die and by then its to late. So if I cut and thin trees out I might be left with trees that are going to die the next year. And I have found that if I cut live trees down the sap that comes out of the stump seems to bring the beetles into that area. The only good way I can see to deal with it is to let the beetles kill the weak trees, clean up the mess, and hope there's some trees that can fight off the beetles. Thanks for the information and thanks for watching. :)

How do you know if you need the oil cooler or not
@KoalityofLifeАй бұрын
The radiator will have a trans cooler on one side and if you have an oil cooler it will be on the other side of the radiator. All of the Tahoes have a trans cooler so if your radiator only has lines going to one side then you dont have an oil cooler. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. :)

This welder should work great for welding up a roll cage as long as the metal doesn't exceed 1/4 inch thick. I have welded thicker than 1/4 inch with the welder but had to V it out and make multiple passes. I need help convincing my uncles to put up plywood and the moisture barrier before putting up the siding. I didn't think I would have to tell them that, but evidently they think it's a shed. And the wall that they are replacing is the wall of her room.
@KoalityofLife2 ай бұрын
Some places don't put up OSB or plywood before the siding, depending on the building and the part of the country you live in. The house wrap is a must though. I sheathed my house with OSB before the siding because of the large windows I have on the south side of my house. It added a lot of shear strength to the rest of the walls to keep my house from racking. Adding OSB or plywood to the walls cant hurt and doesn't add much to the cost of the build. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. :)

Ive found the best thing to prop the hood is an empty gallon sized jug of antifreeze or motor oil container. It is just the right height and you will notice that you have it open. I have a friend that used a small block of wood, 4x4" and she drove off and her hood blew upwards and got bent.. An empty one gallon or so, sized jug it just right and it most like won't hurt or damage anything in the engine compartment.

Get good at short distances before walking back and you don't have to miss the smaller target. Very portable. Hang some carpet behind for kids. Done. I guess 4 years ago that stuff was cheap lol! No longer. Here is a better way. Stack big pieces of cardboard between two pieces of OSB that are compressed together with allthread at each corner. Easy, stops compound bow arrows, works for broadheads, and when the cardboard is wore out its free to replace. You can do huge targets this way and even put casters on the bottom to wheel it around.
@KoalityofLife3 ай бұрын
Interesting idea. Have you made one? How do your arrows hold up to hitting OSB? Thanks for watching. :)
@_Mordion_3 ай бұрын
@@KoalityofLife Yeah, they're very easy to make. The OSB is just there to act as the top/bottom so that you can sandwich the cardboard in tight between it. I wouldn't want to hit the OSB with an arrow, but I use it because I imagine it would be a little more forgiving than something like a 2x4. They make all thread at my local home depot going up to 6' lengths so if you have enough cardboard you can do some pretty huge targets. The largest one I've made was 4x4'.
@KoalityofLife3 ай бұрын
@@_Mordion_ Ahh I was misunderstanding the sides you were putting the OSB on. I thought you were putting the OSB on the front and back not the top and bottom. Makes sense now with the OSB on the top and bottom you would be hitting only carboard. Thanks for this, I will have to try this target out. :)
