I rode Timberline bike park for the first time yesterday and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I prefer parks with bigger jump lines but nonetheless it was fun. Black runs are more like light enduro fun to train on .. topped off with riding timberline to town

Bend is pretty *MEH* for enduro riding. Phils is incredibly flat, and the area is generally very cross country. With the exception of what you rode, tylers traverse, and bachelor, it is incredibly average when compared to other areas. Hood river to name a better destination in oregon

It took over a decade to get the tline bike park approved due to multiple lawsuits by the USFS and environmental groups. Meadows facing the same issue. Trail crew is heavily restricted and can’t even move a rock or dirt around without prior approval process that takes longer than the 3 months that the bike park is open. Re-align just got approved for a rebuild and they are adding 20 blue features to it. So far they have a couple 12ft tables a a few step downs with one that you can boost pretty deep. I also heard that the bike park manager was stepping down and the replacement is a dude who built up bachelor. Hopefully it gets better. Gondola also got approved so once that is complete the the grand plan says that they could be a park that connects tline and Summit ski area. Plans state that the summit ski area is gonna have a “slope style course.” It’s clear of snow longer and dirt is much better down there.

I am going to be in Hood River some where between July 18 and 21 just because i could see the historic Columbia river highway. i love riding the old railways and highways, but i also come from a bmx freestyle back ground, so i am going to hit all the trails that i can. probably going to hit the skate parks as well. thanks for the video man, it is much appreciated.

Wow. The masks outside at the top of a mountain just kills me. My god. Other than that, amazing video. I used to ride there. Grew up in portland. Raced in a downhill event there one time and realized I was lucky to make it out alive. I wrote a few checks my skill level couldn’t cash. But so much fun.

Can I use a new GX rear derraileur with a 10-52 X01 cassette, a X01 or a XX1 chain with a new GX cranckset? What do you think about this configuration? Is there a difference in terms of functionality between the new GX and the new X01 derraileurs?
@NeverProMTB
@NeverProMTB 3 жыл бұрын
I totally recommend going with the GX rear derailleur and the XO1 cassette. I think that's the ideal combo for cost and weight savings. The chain is a matter of personal preference, and in my case vanity because I wanted to get the black one. I'm still running my old GX crank set, so you'll be good with that for sure.

hell yeah dude! i live in portland and i'm up at skibowl nearly every other day!. its a SUPER good place to learn general bike handling skills. it doesn't have a ton of variation but it has some of the gnarliest trails in the pacific northwest, no doubt. ridgeline to cannonball to pro line to cat II to firehydrant is the route the PNW cup takes place on and it's one of the most grueling, fastest dh races in the area. skibowl isn't the best place to snowboard or ski but when the summer rolls around, i'm up there 24/7. so sick to have such an awesome place so close to home! I take it this video was recorded near the beginning of the summer tho as the trails today (8/29/2020) were absolutely blown out and there were no damp trails in site.

I went for my first downhill experience a few weeks ago and had a blast. I was thinking this had to be some of the more gnarly stuff lmao. But also keep in mind you can just loop the top lift instead of going all the way down and imo i was getting more runtime and less lift time that way.
