Hi Don, just checking back in. I bought one of these 10 years ago used based on your review and one other (David Gilmour style). I have been gigging this thing all over and still get compliments on my guitar tone every night. Over the years I did change the tubes and swapped speaker to a Ragin Cajun for about 5db more beef. She is just a great little workhorse. I found she takes either TS9 or OCD really well into Ch1 but Ch2 is best to dial in the voice you want with nothing in front. Voices I use often- Ch1- Blackface Deluxe Reverb- Doobies, SRV, Mayer 3- hi gain Tweed- Brian May, Santana 6- Vox Top Boost- Beatles, U2, Gilmour 8- Plexi- Jimi, Clapton I own several other more expensive amps but this one still goes to most of the local gigs. For large outdoor stages I do bring a Mesa. If the SC got lost, stolen, or caught fire one night, I would find another one. Cheers!

To my vulgarian ears there is kind of an ambient slide sound which can be achieved by almost any gear, especially with papas little helpers from pedal land. And there is tone, sweet even when dirty and distinct like Ben Websters at any level. When Derek Trucks talks about his journey into pitch and in particular about control it is like revelation, which does not help my grizzly touch though. Thankyou 😊

Just lovely. What style(s) on the 670 are you using? Just realized, that's not a 670 is it?
@don22bАй бұрын
hi there and thank you, that is DGX 670, I can’t tell you exactly which patch ..but it’s one of the electric pianos, mixed with some of the string sounds ,, I don’t remember cause I just click through them not looking at what they were .. just what they sounded like and as soon as I found one that I liked.. I chose it , sorry I can’t be more exact on that, it is such a wonderful keyboard though …very expressive.!

Couple of days ago I saw a video of Rory Gallagher playing slide on The Old Grey Whistle Test (popular late night rock show on the BBC), in the 1970s, and he was using some sort of small bottle, with a closed end. I think it was brown glass though. On a Telecaster, not the famous Strat!

Hey Don: I really enjoy your guitar hands playing the piano. I can only hope to get that good! I've been driving myself nuts for the last 6 months looking at buying a digital piano. My "why's" are: 1. enjoyment 2. I love music 3. I like to arrange and be creative 4. Don't want to have to trade-in after a year or so 5. Took lessons from age 12-15 6. I want to become a better piano player first and arranger/producer second 7. I’m a techie…I like messing with stuff 8. I have an M3 Macbook air 9. at home only 10. most important sounds, concert grand, Rhodes, and B3 with Lesley effect 11. Certainly accompaniment is nice to have for full sound 12. Ability to manipulate (?) via a DAW I've gotten down to a Roland FP-50 or GO:KEYS 5 or Yamaha DGX-670 or PSR-SX600 or Akai Professional MPC (I've played all of these at the store) I am leaning towards the DGX-670 because of the key bed and feel Thoughts and suggestions are welcome. Many thanks!

I actually agree. I have always felt that is one of the most inspired live solos ever to be put on tape. Maybe the most inspired. The changes he makes ... the stuff he comes up with ... not just for one verse but then AGAIN for a second verse. What live guitar solo was ever better? I really can't think of one. Maybe I'm missing something. What Prince did with While My Guitar Gently Weeps is up there for instance.

Exactly,, I’ve probably heard that version through the years learning guitar, loving hearing music,, I probably listen to that song over 1000 times, and I can’t find one thing that should’ve been different,, Or better? No way..! you cannot change perfect artistic interpretation,, it’s simply a chunk of history,, and thankfully forever
