Sandisk has drop protection, but warranty is only 3 years which is a red flag. For lower speed, it is still Rs.1000 more than XS1000. So, if ruggedness is a factor, go for it. XS2000 is similar to XS1000 except that it is more rugged. So, in a way XS2000 needs to be compared to Sandisk 800mbps version. If you are not traveling a lot with it, I would say XS1000 is better value for money. If you travel a lot, get XS2000 or Sandisk.

Everything works for video editing and copying. That is the main benefit of these 800mbps and 1000mbps speeds.

Yeah. It could be an issue. Even when NVMe is used inside PC, for sustained writes, it is a problem. This model has an aluminium heat sink, but in Kerala climate without AC, it could still be a problem.

@@shsn3113 Windows uses exFAT and NTFS file systems. If you are using exFAT, no issues in Mac. But if you are using NTFS, Mac can only read it, not write to it. But then there are third party apps you can use to load NTFS drivers to write from Mac also!. So check if it is exFAT in Windows machine. (disk properties)

If you are doing video editing, files are large. So a fast SSD is better. Samsung T7, Sandisk extreme etc. are good options. I would recommend getting a Seagate HDD as secondary backup. You can get a 4tb or 5tb version for that.

Yes. That is true. Just for one external SSD, this is not worth it. But if you have many, this makes it useful! :-). Also, if you have an internal SSD in PC and want to use it in laptop, this is the only option without opening laptop.
