So who would get this, junkies? Then they could do the drugs however they want and not worry about OD? How’s this actually helpful? Isn’t the goal to get people OFF of drugs?

You need to be more humble and learn to embrace creativity and discovery instead of being so negative and fearful.

@@caedenw that's quite the deduction from me wondering about use of the never to be used invention. You really sent out a great world changing message with your comment. All invented items or created plans need skepticism and criticism or the world would be filled with useless crap and ideas. A true inventor welcomes and wants criticism. For one, it helps with finding problems and issues they didn't they didn't see themselves. For some stuff such as getting a chemical rapidly into your blood, there's only one way. Once the wheel was invented, it stayed round but it didn't stop people from still today trying to change it. Far as this particular invention, unrelated to space travel, if they want to invent related to treating Diabetes, maybe their high intelligence should be put into curing Diabetes, not reinventing the wheel. But far as my comment being in line with thinking, that would result in us not making it to the moon. Maybe your world is all happiness and positivity, but not everyone's is. What do we go on to next here in these comments, me calling you a Millennial and you calling me a boomer(something I'm not).

@al_kaloid 2 жыл бұрын
The way I understand it this is for drugs that aren't readily bioavailable if you take them orally. Due to the application method it acts like an injection and the drug can pass through the mucous membranes of your stomach and can be absorbed without the hassle of using syringes. Edit: it seems this is a more invasive method than simple buccal application but still easier to manage than injections.. sounds interesting

I once had a central line in my chest. It's basically a very long IV that is fed quite a ways into your body, and the end of it sits right next to your heart. They have to suture it into your chest. I was getting dressed, and standing I put my underwear on making my knee bend. I had a line hooked into my central line and when I put my leg down, the attached line had made a loop and my knee caught it. It pulled it so fucking hard I screamed and just about collapsed. The pain was indescribable. Torturous isn't a strong enough word, and I have a pain tolerance that is leagues higher than most people. Here's the kicker - that wasn't even close to the worst pain(s) I've experienced. Not by a long shot. The time to care about your health is when you are healthy, not when you're sick. People tend to think "everything will work out in the end" so they make exceptions with their health, both mentally and physically. I can tell you, 100%, it's not worth it. Take care of yourself if not for you, do it for the ones that care about you.
@JacobRy

not the meter but the pump can get pulled out. it's honestly not that painful just really annoying since you waste it. worst pain is comparable to duct tape on skin but usually less than that

The hard question! Maybe they could do it with some sort of two spring mechanism. They said the trigger is timed. I like to think of the trigger as more of a fuse. You could have one spring on a fuse that initiates the injection. Sort of a fast blow fuse. The needle that does the injecting could have a barb that allows it to hold the capsule in place. After the injection has been made, there could be a second spring that is stronger than the first. That would be on a longer delay (slow blow fuse). When that spring actuates it could be strong enough to pull the hypodermic with the barb out of the stomach lining allowing it to release. I am by no means an engineer or a biotechnician. Just thought the problem was interesting and tried to work through it a little
