I always get concerned when dogs are not recalled during these encounters. I know the dogs are there for protection. However, I would rather be alerted, recall my pet, then take other actions - if needed - to repel the coyote.

Coyotes can hurt your dog bad and has to go to the vet and keep food and water inside and pick up the bird seeds or you might attract rodents and you've attracted a coyote and keep trash sturdy lid to on the trash can and pick up the fruit on the ground and use whatever if you get an incounter with one of them use a bell a stick or a rock or a can and throw at them and look them in the eyes 👀 if people have little dogs they need to carry them if you have a bigger dog you need to have them on a leash

You need to haze the coyote and make your self big and never turn your back on a coyote and never run 🏃‍♂️ or the coyote will chase you and you did the wrong thing and not hazing it or your dog will be hurt

Never let your pets run after coyotes. They will intentionally lead dogs and other potential prey away to where they will be ambushed by the rest of the pack that was hiding and waiting.

This the 2nd time I ever seen a coyote run fast, I seen one jump onto a felled tree about 5 feet high with ease, he said as checking me and my gf out as we walked a trail , he was a good looking healthy male most coyotes I’ve seen are barely alive , always see one when I have no stick or mace when I forget to carry anything I at least like to have gloves on to grab a stick, but they never messed with us we get messed with by people’s pets tho ,
