Tint laws are stupid. In MN cars can only be 50 all around. Trucks, Vans, SUVs can have their rear passengers and rears pitch black tint. I don't see the point of that reason who they need to see on a certain car. Tint should be about visibility. Heck you can't even see out of new cars nowadays with no tint cuz the butt of the car is as high as trucks hood.

I refuse to take off my tints if the ticket is the tax it costs for my freedom then I will pay it. 6 year I have had limo tint on my G35 and I have had 3 tickets. I driver at least 3 hours every day to get to work so its a higher risk for me. Its a bullshit law. I paid 60 k for my car and no one is going to tell be how to decorate it

It states that the interior of the vehicle must be viewable from the windshield and the windows to the left and right of the driver. In the state of NY, your front doors and back doors: no darker than 72% and the rear window, anything is allowed.

Bogus as in it shouldn't exist and no that's only a cretin state its different for every one in Maryland where I live for example its 35% on any window but the windshield witch has to be a 35% sun strip or in an suv or truck the back may be completely blacked out because its considered a work class vehicle

Regardless of the fact that some cops are cool and some are dicks, they risk their lives. The more at ease they are, the easier it is for you. At night if you get pulled over, shut your ignition off, roll down your driver's side window, turn on the interior light, and keep your hands on the wheel. Once he/she gets to the vehicle then reach for your reg/ins. I always do this, and I've only received one ticket out of the last seven times I've been pulled over. Give respect, and you'll get it back.

I agree. I just got pulled over for the same thing the other day and got a ticket. I have owned my car for 4 years and never got pulled over. I have passed many cops in that time on the roads. It is a ridiculous law! What the hell...I bought the car from the dealer that way! I thought this was America!

Dark tinted windows should be banned . Most car drivers are to busy texting , reading maps , putting makeup on or just plain shortsighted . They dont need any more help not seeing you when they pull out or cut you up .

fuckers got me on my last car and i had to un tint it 2 weeks after i had it done its a bogus law and it goes to show how much freedom you dont have in america anymore if someone wants to raise/ lower the suspension tint the windows or whatever on there car thats there personal property and as long as its not making the vehicle unsafe to drive it shouldnt matter what you do to it

Fact, the front of limo's are NOT tinted and those that have tint in the front cabin have it either at regulation or have a mechanism that insures the limo never exceeds a certain speed limit. Fact "middle class/ poor people" regularly tint windows on cars that are not permitted to have tinted windows or have colors that are deemed unsafe by the authorities, this isnt because they are poor or middle class this is because they don't fact check before proceeding with tinting their windows.
