ES said on a recent Dale Jr podcast that it was a mistake him not coming to pitroad. Apparently he keyed to ask if he should put when his crew chief told him to put so he didn't hear him say to pit. Man that makes this even more impressive imo.

Handsome Harry had to give way to Hard Luck Harry eventually as a 5c part cost him his brakes and first place...no doubt he wins this one with the Skoal Bandit at full strength, he was holding Dale off admirably without brakes as it was

33 years later as a NASCAR fan I can relate to this. I remember thinking recently that Josh Berry was going to be the driver to get the Wood Brothers their 100th win. Harrison Burton, son of Jeff Burton, ended up winning the race in Daytona the other night. Now I have to eat my own words on that deal.

Had FOX already hired Mike Joy for the next season yet by this point in the 2000 NASCAR season, or was it a little later on in the year when FOX announced Mike Joy as their Play by Play guy? This is something I've always wondered about?
