genders were never used to indicate pronouns in the history of english language...it's he/she/they for male(xy), female(xx) and intersex respectively. it's commonsense to use pronouns based on the perceived sex which is clearly identifiable by looking 99.99% of the time. this leads to rapid and convenient communication where usage of name repeatedly introduces lag or where there is no need to know names(interaction between strangers)
