Cv axle will be “weaker” but only compared to a regular axle that is pointed straight the more angle you put in the steering the weaker it gets Benefits of CV axle is its smoother doesn’t bind and when you do break one you can still drive it home Get the lifetime warranty ones from the parts store and just exchange when they do break

I hope you can keep the YJ. It's not cheap but they are worth keeping if you can afford it. Good luck with the frame repair. I have been there on my TJ

Thankfully with a CV when you break it you can drive home where a ujoint tends to bust the lower ball joint and kick the knuckle out when it fails under hard throttle.

I know my YJ is rated for towing 2000 lbs. I'd imagine an XJ is about the same. I have a single axle ATV trailer and I've always wondered how my YJ would tow it. Now I have the confidence it will! 😅

I guess you’re supposed to have rear marker lights in Tennessee too. I’ve never been stopped for not having them, but man I’ve been stopped for not having a license plate light a bunch of times, so many times I finally added one. lol.
