@@dusty_hoods Do you know if Giant has an annual event in the fall where they announce all new models? Or do they just quietly post it on their website?

@RWayne3326 I believe no, and no one has in bike industry. Ten years ago everyone made lots of announcements at the exhibition but now social media marketing took over and brands partners with media and reviewers when new products launch.

From my experience while I was filming - it's a sturdy and solid peace of plastic, works perfectly, looks reliable and doesn't feel cheap. I also had a concern about sealing of the internal storage and I've asked an ambassador who did a lot of rides/races last year on this frame - no issues. So far looks promising.

D-Fuse... my nightmare in my Revolt 1
@dusty_hoods8 күн бұрын

@@dusty_hoods Didn't work for me, tried everything
@APham-ld9doКүн бұрын
My suspicion is that there is significant enough differences in D-fuse seat tube, wedge, and screw wedge tolerances that leads to D-fuse seat tube/post issues. Not to mention installation methods/variables. Simply put, the design seems to be troublesome enough that many are frustrated. I would be more apt to purchase a Giant Revolt if it were not for the D-fuse seat tube.
@dusty_hoodsКүн бұрын
I guess that's why in this model there's a QR code printed on the adapter plate that leads to the instruction manual on how to install seatpost correctly. Personally I'm totally fine with pure D-Fuse solution without any adapters, it works great - flexible, service twice a year, rode for 4 years no problem. Maybe I'm lucky 😁

I'm watching this video because I am so badly wanting to purchase the new 2025 Giant Revolt Advanced 2, in this color way nonetheless! But it is specifically this wedge seat post clamping mechanism that turns me off. I've heard so many great things about the Giant Revolt, but I have to go with the Trek Checkpoint instead. It has a traditional external seat post clamp and Trek has moved to T47 bottom brackets for many of their bikes. Between the wedge seat post clamp and the press fit bottom bracket on the carbon Giant Revolt, I've gone with the Trek Checkpoint.
@Quizmate18 күн бұрын
@APham-ld9do wise move. There's also the integrated cabling at the front end to deal with. Will be an expensive and time consuming nightmare to service those cables on a mechanical drivetrain.
@viktorpetrovych95488 күн бұрын
@@APham-ld9do I've had press-fit bottom brackets on all my bikes since 2008. I don't understand what problems they create. And since the Thread Together press-fit bottom brackets appeared on the market, press-fit is the best thing in bike frames today.
@APham-ld9do7 күн бұрын
@@viktorpetrovych9548, from what I've gathered on reading about press fit bottom brackets, it is indeed the best solution for bottom brackets with regard to stiffness and weight savings. There's no debating this fact, but current bike manufacturing practices apparently cannot consistently produce, specifically carbon frames, acceptable tolerances for press fit bottom brackets. Granted, manufacturers such as Giant tend to have acceptable tolerances and quality control for press fit bottom brackets, it is generally accepted that the consistently safer route for non-racing orientated, consumer bike frames is a threaded bottom bracket. Weight savings in this scenario are not typically meaningful for the casual rider. Specialized, Cannondale, and now Trek have gone back to threaded bottom brackets. That decision has to be for a reason, despite the fact that the vast majority of press fit bottom brackets may never develop an issue.
