We are going on a cruise at the end of January to Italy (stopping in Rome, Naples, and Sicily) and Greece. I wonder if you have any thoughts about going in the winter? Thanks for the very informative videos! Very helpful!

Is there anyway to get from the airport in Rome to Florence on a high speed train, without stopping at the Termini station? Or that is the only way you can grab a high speed train? Are they only available at the Termini station? What I would love to do is just go from the plane to a train and get off in SMN station, without transferring . So is my only option to do this is taking the slower train from the airport?
@TravelAddictsLife3 күн бұрын
There is one train per day that goes from Fiumicino to Santa Maria Novella without changes. It is at 1:53pm it is train 9423
@lisettewurster36483 күн бұрын
Thank you ! So it would be best to wait and buy the ticket upon arrival. And if we can not make this one and only train, the only other way would be to take the Leonardo Express to Termini and buy a high speed ticket there, correct?

Agree with review the tours, I pay $480 for 2 people for a tour to Florence and a wine tasting in a castle they give 3 glasses of wine and 1 of sweet wine with a toast a piece of cheese and 2 slices of salami, For the price I expected more.

Love this review, I have a fond memory of Costa. When I was around 5/6 yld the company that my father work made their Christmas party in The Carla C, that was a big Dimond house and everything was soo luxurious that I was in love. In this cruise I was in, it was soo disappointing to see people in the formal dinning, dress in shorts and chanclas soo bizzare. I guess I will have to upgrade my cruise lines, to bad I dont have the money for that😅. Yes I may be a snobby woman that like to dress up. 😂😂😊😊😊😊😊

Hi... Im back from Italy and your video for they train transportation work like a charm. Tho after booking business class from civitavecchia to rome waiting for the train my husband was kind anxious and make me take a R train that wasn't ours, soo no business class for me 😂😂 but we still arrived at Roma Termini within an our. Thanks for your videos. ❤❤❤❤ I will definitely keep watching for future trips to Italy. 😊 Btw the NCL Prima I didn't like it, not much entertainment the food is average and all the activities that most cruises do on the lido deck under the stars this one makes them on deck 6. Kind weird this huge ships are not worth it.

I saw a tour that does the Amalfi coast, sorrento and pompeii but with arthritis, I was wondering if I should do a self-tour as I am not fast. Can I see the Amalfi coast, Pompeii and sorrento by public train or should I take the tour? Would you do it in 2 days if you are self pacing?
@TravelAddictsLife20 күн бұрын
Hello there, you can do Pompeii and Sorrento by train but to go to the Amalfi coast you will need to take a bus or a taxi. You can do Pompeii and Sorrento in one day, spend the night in Sorrento then take a tour from there to the Amalfi coast.

Rome is quite safe in the city center, there are always so many tourists around. Just avoid anyone that want to give you something for free because they are scammers. If you take the metro watch out for your belongings especially when the train is packed

I plan to follow your lead on a 2 day stop in Milan next week. Questions: Would someone afraid of heights be able to tolerate the lift to and the rooftop terrace of the Duomo? Or would you advise against it? How much time would you allow for the various sights like the Duomo, La Scala theater and Sforza castle? Can you recommend a restaurant in La Brera and the Navigli district?
@TravelAddictsLife24 күн бұрын
Hello there thank you for your comment. Yea the Duomo is fine if you are afraid of hight. La scala it will take one hour, and the castle probably a couple.
@YogaBlissDance24 күн бұрын
Ok so at @19:02 you cover my comment-which I posted early in video (but the beginning is confusing.) Comment: Allelaguna is not the cheapest vaporetto or even the everyday one! The regular vaporetto's are a different company ACTV. Allelaguna runs a smaller # of things routes, and is fine for those few things. But you want the ACTV pass that goes grand canal, around VEnice and to outer islands and is cheaper. Basically the analogy is one is like your city buses: ACTV, and one is more like the limited route commuter bus. 2. Re staying in Gieudecca (sp) it's like being in Jersey City, looking at NY, yes you have to take a vaporetto across to St. Marks, but benefits are it's quiet, lovely and the view as I mentioned is amazing- you are looking across at Venice. I loved visiting it and would happily stay there, if you want quiet at end of the day. You guys are great.

PLEASE READ THIS ROME BUS TRAP, AND SPREAD IT! On 12 Oct 2024, we bought 4 bus tickets from a tabacchi before getting on the bus, afterwards, we got on the bus from the middle door and we were walking to the ticket validating machine in the crowded bus, it is full of people but we were trying our best to move to the ticket validating machine, at the same time, the inspector stopped us from validating the tickets and claimed that we didn't stamp the tickets, we explained to the inspector many times but the police didn't listen to us, and the inspector insists to give 4 of us a fine of EUR 54.9. We are innocent and we promise that we were really approaching the ticket validating machine in the fully packed bus, therefore, I hope you can understand our situation. To us, it is a kind of nightmare and it is shame of Italy, I hope no more tourists will fall into this trap which is innocent and ridiculous.
