Not sure why my comment to Rolands family lists as two days ago, but it wasn't. I came back to pay my respects in this holiday season. I miss you Roland! I hope to see you again one day. I hope your family is doing well. G

To Rolands' family: Roland was an avid viewer of my channel and we'd developed a friendship over time through our dialogue on both of our channels. I wan't you all to know I feel your loss. You've lost a husband, father, etc. and I lost a friend. He's still in my heart, now- and forever. Good speed My man Roland...

I bought that harbor freight scroll saw and next day took it back. They asked what was wrong with it, told them that I didn't have 8 arms like an octopus to change blades.

Thanks, I’ll follow your advice! I bought some of the Harbor Freight Pittsburg quick-grip clamps and they’ve been nothing but trouble… squeezing the handle just moves the bar about 1/4” and then releasing the handle moves it right back!

*This is my second WEN tool and they are both great **MyBest.Tools** I needed to do some trim work around the house and needed a scroll saw for the intricate work. No complaints so far.*

Thank you for the video. What is the main purpose of the square blk piece you did not attach to the table? But would attach to a block of wood later for? The blade fixture.

Bought one 2 years ago, after the first try returned it, told then you have to be an octopus 🐙 with 8 finger dealing with the blade. Now there is a retrofit to take care of that problem.

$13 for 10 ft of pipe. I wish. It's like 3 times and more than that in my area. I just checked again and it was $50+ for 10ft black pipe at hd. I bought a few of these clamps at hf like 2 years ago but never used them because I can't source the pipe cheaper than buying the bar clamps or making do in other ways.

How to fix a reciprocating saw that won't accept blades. You can find them at thrift stores for a few bucks, plug them in and they seem to work great. Mine cost only 9.99. But when I got it home and tried to put blades in it, they wouldn't go in.The reason is the blade clamp, a spring-loaded collar on the front of the saw, has rusted or jammed with sap to where the little pin inside that fits into the little hole on the base of the saw blade has frozen and cannot move.I was able to take it apart, clean it out, and the saw then worked fine. There's usually a circlip or spiralock clip on the very nose of the blade clamp that, when removed, allows you to slip the clamp apart. On the Chicago brand saws, the clamp is not replaceable since they don't seem to sell any parts for them. Milwaukee does for their saws, but they cost a lot more than Chicago's, usually found at Harbor Freight tools. When I got it apart I found it all rusty inside and the pin was frozen into place too hard to remove it. So I got out a blowtorch (bernzomatic) and heated the end of the shaft where the pin goes in, for about 5 minutes, then clamped it in a vise, and used a flat screwdriver I had ground into a sharp chisel-point. After a lot of hard hammering it began to come out. Once out, I noticed a small spring wrapped around it, which I carefully removed and cleaned up. I used steel wool on the pin and a drill which fit pretty close to the hole which was rusted also. After a full cleanup I applied some high quality grease to all the parts and put them together again, and the saw now works fine. So, I saved 50 bucks for about an hour's work. Not a lot, but I like to NOT throw away things that really only need cleaning. The lesson is when you finish with a reciprocating saw always clean off and oil the blade clamp or be ready to buy a whole new saw! eek. Like Comment Share
