The planaria worms are kinda nice, untill they eat your shrimp from the inside out causing them a horroific death. Excelent natural light setup!!!! Amano shrimp need brackish water to give offsprings.

Question Pleaseeee First thank you, when i heard of this method, this was the first video and one i use for reference. During the cycling stage, did you add anything to the tank, starter chemicals or ammonia?

Hello, nice to meet you, greetings from Mexico. I have two questions: 1. Have you ever observed a fish eating a planarian? 2. The Nymphoides aquatica did not die when the rhizome disintegrated. Thank you very much for the video. Those details are why I like aquarium keeping. Excellent video.

May I ask what substrate you chose. Is there soil under the gravel? Also, you use a filter but don't do water changes, is that correct?

If every person did 1/8th the amount of research you did, there would be a lot less dead fish in the world. You're wise beyond your years, and showed your tanks the respect they deserve by doing your research BEFORE buying living creatures. Not AFTER they start dying, and I have to see another "Why are my fish dying" post on Reddit.

13:10 that "aluminium plant" didn't look like aquatic from the beginning, better put it in the pot on the windowsill. I have seen many times how indoor and garden plants are sold as aquarium plants. Chlorophytum, Fittonia, Dracaenaand so on...

If most people only done a fraction of the research you did then hobby fish would be so much more happier. Nice results

Great video! I’ve done the same this year…. I think everyone should have a tank like this! Also may already know but there are allot of house plants you can grow from the top of the tank with the roots just submerged in water.. and these actually filter water more than submerged plants… orchids are one of them as I noticed u had some of these … just need to may a basket or a clip hold… I have spider plants in mine and there thriving and water is clear… but notice I need to top up more as there probably drinking it all…also want to mention that your description of how memorising a tank is great…. Really can watch forever all the little things… cherry shrimp are legends!

In 1977, a German man taught me how to keep fish and plants using garden soil and silica sand. Europeans have used the ecology of soil long before Waldstad appropriated the name, just like in reef aquaria Germans developed the Berlin School of reef keeping, which is one of the basis of modern reef keeping. So what you created is a Natural planted aquarium in the old German school. Natural methods were first pioneered in England around the late 1800s. i totally admire that you researched much before starting your aquarium project, because I think we need much more people who research and study before starting any project in their lives, specially if it involves animal and plant life.
