When I went to the pyramids in Egypt I wore a dark black pair of Ray Charles sunglasses and music earphones in my ears and ignored everything the scammers had to say. I just acted like they didn’t even exist in the world.

One thing for sure, NO doesn’t mean NO in Egypt. This is the very reason that very rich people in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and United Arab Emirates often hire Egyptian men as their car salesman in their dealerships. They never take no for an answer and they never stop closing the deal, even when vehemently told NO! 😂😂😂

The usual behaviour of Arabs, they even disrespect the people going for holy purposes in Makkah and Medinah. They misbehave, disrespect and challenge your dignity from time to time. And makes you so uncomfortable. So, I totally agree with what you are experiencing. And for 90% non arab visitors coming there, they have absolutely no guide and nobody to speak any other language than Arabic. lol

Yes, organs. Travelled umpteen thousand kilometres on 18 hours of flights to try some Lima street food on the first night. Got back to our accommodation with our hoard, only to find it was chicken organs and something not normally removed from a pig! I ate the chunky corn bits and the potato... passed on the rest.

Hey buddy! The waiter didn't treat you well at all. I was surprised by this situation. They approached you as if they were seeing a tourist for the first time... Agha Baba Döner advertised well, yes, this is true, but it opened a store in the wrong place in terms of location. The store should have been in Levent or Beşiktaş district because the location there hosts more tourists.. .This is just an advice, have a nice trip.... 😎

I'm guessing they already had this place before they became more famous, then after they put a small location by the harbour near the tourists, but yeah, they should open a big location on the european side, that's a lot of missed opportunity there

Imagine locals having tourist traps in tourist areas. Walking around as a tourist and going to tourist traps is unheard of. The best part of travel is being scammed with a smile. Anything attached to religion is a scam regardless of the country.
@s34nTravels10 күн бұрын
Not really sure how to word this, but: It seems like a lot of countries with poor education are somewhat religious. When you have a religious scam, it's a great opportunity for certain people to line their pockets. I didn't any western tourists visiting the holy snake, but I did see a lot of, for instance: Indian/Pakistani tourists

@@s34nTravels Perhaps you can touch on aspects of urban life in cities like Lima/Jakarta with focus on general vibe and social interactions? For example, where do you find people friendlier and where would you prefer to live? Many thanks
@s34nTravels17 күн бұрын
@@Rafa5127 Jakarta has a huge Muslim population, so a lot of things come pre-packaged with that: Hard to buy alcohol, not much nightlife, women's rights are really poor, clothing issues (but usually for women). The people are VERY friendly in person if you're a foreigner (In person). However, the internet scene is very different from in person. I have found many people from Indo are very jealous and vindictive on the internet. People tend to give focus and attention to people with money. It feels very safe, no issues there. There is a huge social divide. Weather could be an issue. Mosquitoes are always an issue. Easy access to SEA. Cheap to live. Traffic is terrible. Nice standard of living if you're a tourist. Lima - You don't have the issue with nightlife. Places are dangerous at nighttime, so it's harder to travel alone. People are more friendly and approachable, not shy. It's no problem getting a partner or friends. Social comes very easy. But friends come and go. It's rare keeping long-term friends. You never feel alone. You'll need more money to live here, but not much more. You won't be living in Miraflores though, but perhaps Brena or Lince for example for a similar cost. There are way way more scams. Prices are inflated for tourists in markets. There is no rain. People tend to give focus and attention to people with money (Not as much as Indo though). As a tourist, you will find people taking advantage of you, so you will need to control that. In Peru, people rarely bother you for money and handouts. Racism is more common here, but usually just towards Venezuelans. I enjoyed Bali more than Jakarta. It's like Jakarta without the Muslim stuff. I enjoyed Cusco more than Lima. Out of everything, I honestly didn't enjoy Jakarta much at all. If you never leave the house, I recommend Jakarta. You have a pool, nice place, fast internet, its great. If you like nightlife, then Lima. I prefer Cusco out of everything (For my lifestyle) I hope this helps! Based on real experiences of living in both countries as a foreigner
@Rafa512715 күн бұрын
@@s34nTravels Many thanks for your detailed answer! Given the mosquitoes and climate, I think the Lima area and Peru may be better for hiking/jogging, although as you point out safety issues need to be taken into account. I think this kind of (video) content where you could share your experiences from different places and compare them would be useful and appreciated by digital nomads or expats. Of all the places you have visited so far, where would you consider settling in the future?
