this guy here, ryan7 is actually a real good friend of mine. the first night i met him and his crew (had just recently all moved to toronto from thunder bay (17 hour drive) way back 1994), and that night he gave me a copy of his first mixtape. it was called ryan7 - 11, after the circle k type convenience store chain in canada. it had the brilliant Lost Boys theme for his intro. his first track here, this record ended up in my collection after new year's 1996 in a (rare) vinyl trade with his roommate. omg that's funny, as i type this i am listening, for the first time in almost 30 years.... and the track at 14 min, was a record that came from me, as well, in a previous (even rarer) trade. he gave me 2 for this one, tenth chapter - wired [jackpot]. he was a good dj and an all around good guy. after 1&1/2 years, we all had became pretty tight. all of us, his crew, my 'crew'. one night around this time, we found ourselves on the same flyer for the first time, in what would become a regular thing, not even mentioneing the rave promotion company him and his crew started. just last feb played a 28 year reunion party for them (the E!ntertainment Network)l, but ryan lives in china now. been there for awhile. ANYWAYS that party in 1995 we were playing at, it was a huge gig at a massive rave at 'the docks' nightclub, before it was a nightclub. (sadly, now closed, added to the list). thing was, my ex-roommate was a total bitch and for whatever reason he grabbed my crate of vinyl before i got home from a friday night out. admittedley, i was pretty late getting in. i think i kinda knew he'd do something as such, why i moved out the week before. i owed him for 3 or 4 of the records (LMAO cause it was a well paying gig that night). it was a big stack at the shop that day haha) so it was after 6pm when i came home to the news that my crate is not there anymore. no cellphones, no internet, if he wanted to hide it was pretty easy back then. so fuck it, let him. i had to go to this party so i showed up with the 4 records that were NOT in my crate. for an hour and a half set. i didnt know what the fuck i was gonna do. it was my first massive party. (over 3,000 or somethin, and i was playing the main room) i didnt tell the promoters i didnt tell the crew, just a handful of people and it got back to ryan7, but he didnt say anything, until just a couple tracks into his 1&1/2, he motioned for me to come up to the booth, when i got there he shouted in my ear, while mixing, he goes, i heard about buddy, and your situation, he motions across his two crates behind him and says ''my records are yours, wanna play b2b for the full 3 hours?'' obviously i did, my first b2b live at a rave and it was fasntastic. he had great records. the whole night was wicked, so much so, that i ended up meeting a girl there before my set, and well... we ended up together for 10 years. top top bloke, ryan7 is. thanks for reading, if you did. i actually had meant for it to NOT be so long, but the memories of that party, and the night we met all came flooding back. i notice the whole entire dj world is different now, thats for sure. ryan7 if you're reading this, obviously it's something i will Never forget. thanks for the upload (this one, AND all the others), it brought back all these memories. i got tonnes of stories with ryan and his whole crew. there are mixtapes and videos from almost 30 years ago till last year Lol. from raves and afterparties to the after afters at their house in toronto. holy fuck cheers, cassidy

Sheeee-aye-aye-aye-IT! If i had this back in 97-00 i certainly woulda had to buy multiple copies just like my other machete v oscar tapes, i wore them straight the fuck out. To this day no jungle hits me where they do and everything else makes me itch for this feeling <3 Am i biased from growing up in Riverside and LA? Nope. They just the roughest soundbwoy killaz from mid 90s till just recent producers and djs are diggin up this vibe again! NOW LIGHTAH KREW LIGHT UP THA VENUE, MASSIVE!
