I like to use those brass ink-well things to put my white ink into when I need more fine lines or better control. It’s a pain to clean if you let it sit, but it’s kinda fun to use as well.

Hi Lisa, what a stunning portrait. I would love to take this course. It looks like you used blue toned paper. I have tan, white and grey. Which one of these would you suggest would be best to use colorwise? Thanks in advance

One of the lessons in the course (in fact it's a free preview lesson) Is on how to choose the right paper color for this portrait. I invite you to join and watch it, but in the nutshell I would go with grey in your case.

Ok so I’m going to ask hopefully not a stupid question. Why would it add multiple days when using white paper?why add the white charcoal instead of having white paper? Are you only applying white charcoal to light parts of the object you’re coloring or all over? I understand layering and everything thing else you’re teaching here, but I’m getting hung up on these questions as I’m learning. I love your tutorials and hope these questions aren’t coming off jerk like. I honestly want/ need to know the nitty gritty details in all aspects of my life. I don’t feel like I’m art inclined and doesn’t come so naturally to me. Thank you for all the amazing content and education you give❤

I'm not an artist but I love to color. I don't have a printer so I can't print out pictures on tan paper. Can you do this same effect on white paper? Is a primer still applicable?

You absolutely can. Just skip the primer step. And I highly recommend that you get a printer!!! or print in a shop or a library, because you are MISSING OUT on so much awesome printable content. :)

Thank you so much. Unfortunately KDP no longer supports coloring book distribution in Europe from the US authors. :( I have no idea why. It's really a shame. But this is one of the reasons I offer the PDF download version. This way you can print as many pages as you like on any paper that you prefer. I teach most effects on toned paper, so I tend to recommend the digital download to everyone everywhere anyway. Please give it a shot.

Oh my goodness!! I have to purchase this! I would definiteky color this all year long! I just watched your video of the journey/life adventures video and I adore how you have such a variety of subjects in your books. Also, knowing that you create them by hand, is a major plus. October 26th is my page. My parents wedding picture from April 20th, 1964. They were together for 50 years. Separated for 9½ years. 6 months after my dad's death They would have celebrated 60 years 💔 😢. I miss them very much.

Loved this idea. I know you are offering a watercolor effect with pencils course but is the paper in the 📚 one that actually accepts watercolor or equivalent (pencils, Neo IIs, markers)? I'd prefer the full book if it took water. I know not puddles of water but enough to blend out the media without piling, bleed through or terrible buckling.

Thanks! The paper in the physical book won't survive heavy watercolor or strong marker work. Some watery blending may be ok, watercolor pencils will be ok, but it's not heavy paper. It's for pencils. This is why I offer the book as a PDF download so that you can print it on ANY weight paper and also any color. You can always get the paperback just for the shelf display and the PDF for actual heavy wet media work ;) All jokes aside, if you can send me a photo of you physically holding the book, I will send you the PDF for free.
