There is nothing like a Pitts Special. It will teach you how to fly an airplane. Spend 300+ hours in a Pitts S1S an you will become a great pilot. No other aircraft will do that for you. I flew all types of ultralights, gyrocopters, experimental taildragger airplanes and then I bought my S1S. It's like I started all over again. One of life's greatest experiences.

Exactly what I used to do, rolling start, get airborne, hold ten feet until the keys then 4g to max climb out the circuit! Perfect.

Very cool! How long did you study? What country do you leave? How much does it cost in your country? Did you do an inverted corkscrew? Or am I wrong?

Hi. Is there a reason you have the ignition on while starting. The checklist says 12 blades and then ignition on.

Do you have a version without the music and only the sound of the plane?
@crooked-halo6 жыл бұрын
I helped dad build his Pitts in the mid 70s. He loved the build, but didn't love the way it flew. He literally only flew it about a dozen times before selling it. He flew to Kerville, TX. to the Southwest Regional EAA Fly-In in 1977, took first place biplane, got an offer there and sold it. He was used to the Howard 500, other large heavy taildraggers, and Cessna singles.
@Mike-012346 жыл бұрын
Was it difficult for him to land it compared to his other aircraft ground looping after that many hours of building would not be fun.
@pittss2c6014 жыл бұрын
It scared him. That is typical for many builders of Pitts Specials. Large taildraggers are easy to fly. There's even a significant difference between an S1 Pitts versus an S2 Pitts. S2's are much easier to fly.
