When I see videos of young Jani Schofeld, I see myself. However, my parents were aggressively anti-psychiatry, even though I was referred multiple times by various people (not for any psychotic disorder, but for Autism/ADHD/ODD.) While I'm grateful no one put me on pills, I really could've used some damn non-pharmaceutical guidance! Now I'm 15 - and while not full-blown schizophrenic, I do occasionally hear voices and get delusional. Existence itself has always been intense for me. I live on the knife's edge. Although it can be Hell sometimes, when I'm out of the storm, I prefer it that way.

I am feeling this song extra today. I think my relationship is about to end with someone I've dated on and off for 4 years. He left me on read after a tense conversation and I'm not feeling great about it even though I think it's time to say Goodbye. It's never fun to have your heart broken or break someone else's heart. I don't know what my life will be like after that final goodbye. Im just not having a good day. I hope if you're reading, you're having a better day than me and if you're going through stuff hugs. I'm a big fan of this album. Got it as soon as it came out (owning a record store was a big plus in this area). It was a breath of fresh air in the music world then and still holds up after all these years.

This song should have been released as an a side single. I used to play it when I was a late night DJ. It was not on the play list but almost every time I played it someone would call and ask the name of the song/singer. It was requested on the morning drive a few times and I got fussed at by the PD for playing stuff that was not on the list. (country station early 90s) I also got talked to for playing Eagles Hotel California and Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven. I would Play "Freebird, Hotel California and Stairway to Heaven" in a block at least one time a week.
