Hi John, I know that you love your Red Sox , especially Wade Boggs! I texted you earlier today, but I would also love to see videos on Baseballs Heroes & abstract : such as Mark Fidrich , Donnie Moore, Joe Delaney(Football), he died knowing he couldn’t swim, trying to save 3 kids!! Minnie Minoso, Manny Sanguillien, Mike Webster(Football)! I have a good amount of these guys cards , had them slabbed by SGC & & display them on my walls(out of the sun)! I think it’s sad that some met their demise by tragedy or mental health illness! PC NYY & NY Islanders

Hi John, I enjoy your top 10 or top 50 Vintage cards only! They’re way too many new cards to account for. I’m a Vintage NYY & NY Islander fan. You put together really great videos of Vintage cards! Thank You. I would like to see a Craig Nettles, Reggie Jackson run & a “where are they now?” type of video?? Nettles was was my Hero in 1977 , 78 , 79 etc. But, I also think you do such a detailed Vintage runs that’s absolutely stunning! Price comparisons , graded cards(I use SGC). I got back into the Hobby after stopping in 1985 (Baseball, Ice Hockey & Football), in July of 2023! Please keep up the Great work, you should receive an award. Patrick from NY

There is no way of knowing the YT algorithm. I think card show recap videos do really good. But I don’t know about going viral. When I think of viral I think of hundreds of thousand views.

Lying and exaggrating and fearmongering in the title / thumbnail helps videos in general get tons of clicks and attract paying sponsors. Some of the clickers will be angry and say so in the comments, but it's too late. They clicked. For example: "Grading is dead!" Or "Trump cancels all rallies!" and the video does not support the clickbait title at all. Maybe you should try "Wade Boggs was a chicken-addicted alien!"

Hey John, good topic. For me, there are a few guys that I love to watch and will always go directly to those videos before any others when they put new content out. My KZbin experience has continued to evolve over time. When I first started watching vintage channels, I loved to watch card shows, card room tours, grading reveals etc. Fast forward to today, I still have my favorite group of guys which I don't miss but as my collection targets change, so do my clicks (I cant lie, i still watch everything). Getting back into the hobby after a 25 year break, I loved to see the 50's and 60's vintage cards. Now, I lean toward the pre war card videos because I like to learn about them. When Mangini or Dave Blue Jacket are holding class about some rare ass cards, i can't miss a second. I also like how more collaboration videos are being made and guys on on camera just bullshitting telling stories. I think there is something really genuine about that.

Great video! Man, so I know this is not the question you asked, and I know you didn't say you would change your style--but please don't change what you're doing. I mean this sincerely, you're the BEST sports card youtuber. The space, and really all youtubers, are just repeating everyone else's content. "Creators" see something that Paul Lesko tweeted and then all of a sudden there's five youtube videos that are the same. A channel gets numbers from ripping on other hobby personalities, and all of a sudden all these small channels are doing similar videos where they rip on people in the hobby. People selling their character for what? $3 of youtube revenue? And, it's the same all over KZbin, food/recipe youtubers seem to see one recipe go viral and then there are five "street corn dip" videos. A personal finance youtuber makes a video on the importance of looking poor and then there's seven copycat videos. I contrast that with what you do--you actually love these cards. You're not chasing clout. You're not trying to make your fortune on youtube $0.15 cents at a time. It's fantastic. Please keep doing what you're doing. So, sorry to ramble on--I guess my thesis statement is that you're great at this, and (mostly) everyone else needs to follow your lead, not vice versa.

Interesting topic, John. My views are all over the place. Somehow, my channel grew tremendously in about a 4-6 month period, and it seemed like every video I did went over 1k views. But, my videos can be as low as 100-200 views, and I've had videos go over several thousand views with the highest one being about 13k. Card Room Tour, Top 25 in my Collection, and My Journey in Collecting type videos seem to do really well. Some of my "Budget" collecting videos have done very well also. For me, it's really all over the place. Maybe it's because my channel topics are all over the place, just like my collecting!😂

My card collection videos get under 200 views, but some of my card show videos get over 1k views. Nothing viral.

Thanks Orlando. For my purposes, I’d consider your show videos as going viral if they get over 1K views. I had noticed that your show videos get lots of views. I need to watch more of your pre-war videos as I want to learn more about those sets.

I've noticed the same, channels suggested to me with very few subscribers, but have videos had 2 times the viewers. What gives? Not on my card videos. 20-35 views per video.

Hey John 👋 I have noticed that channels that have topics about PSA submissions and or crossover submissions from PSA to SGC or vice versa do really well. This is only a observation on my part as I have never done these topics. Go Mets !!

so upperdeck makes card of the week!!!! did you say 2005 Zenith as in Tv's or did you mean a different company? I now see upper left hand corner Zenith , Exquiste , what do you think about his turn back the clock cards? can they be cards of the week or only real cards like these and his playing days like his 1984 card?

I reconogize him for his greatness which he was. Do I think he belongs in the Hall based on what he did the rules are quite simple he bet on Baseball which is illegal because at that time he was a Mgr and player, he also lied about it then later on he came clean and said he bet on 1988 and 1989 so since both him and shoeless did things away but were illeggal such as throwing the world serise and him betting No hall of fame. I could see if he had been retired from Baseball say 1 season after his retirement and he bet on Baseball it's his off time he's retired this I can understand but as a player Mgr. this isn't allowed. But I look at him for what he did on the Field more than off the field. No Hall of Fame.. would it be nice if he got in I guess. still nice nothing has changed 1964 card , 1965 , 1966 , 1967 , 1972 , 1973 , , 1974 , 1975 , 1976 , 1977, 1977 record breaker , 1978 1979 , 1979 highlights , so him and Mays very sad . yes!!!!

Thanks Mark. Yes, it's a shame that his gambling addiction caused him to get banned from baseball. Otherwise I'm sure he would have been a first ballot hall of famer.

@@WadeBoggsFan We all know he would be first ballot but do you think he would have gotten 100% of the votes or do you think the other players that would be on that ballot tough competition and nobody gets 100%? I don't understand how Rivera gets 100% ? nobody else was good his year?

Pete! Should not be in HOF. The rule was clear, and posted in the dugout. Nothing equivocal about "banned." If no rules, what is the point? It does not matter anyway, HOF is now hall of very good. Still my favorite player.

He's just not eligible for the HOF. His death has no bearing on it whatsoever. The ban was permanent, not just his lifetime. Although, with what Ohtani seems to have gotten away with, Pete should've hired himself an interpreter.

The match that lit the fire under my revered Big Red Machine. I'm sure his surviving teammates will be at the funeral. It pisses me off that someone listed a Pete Rose rookie card on eBay for $2 million right after he died. No respect.

He certainly was a big part of it. And I think he was the driving force on the Phillies team in 1980 when they won the WS. Unless it's a private event, I would suspect lots of former major leaguers would want to attend his funeral. And yeah, unless it is a PSA 10 copy, that's ridiculous. Not even sure a PSA 10 is worth that much.

Will the veterans committee now have a review/vote on Pete in 2025 now that he's dead? I fully believe he'll get into the HOF by 2026 at the latest, they just didn't want him to get the satisfaction of it while he was living.

From what I know, the Baseball HOF has always followed the lead of MLB and not had a player eligible to be inducted if MLB considers them ineligible. In theory though, I believe the Baseball HOF is an independent institution and might be able to decide among its members to allow Rose to be included in an upcoming ballot. But I doubt that they will. So MLB would probably have to do something first regarding Rose.

Thanks for sharing your tribute to Pete Rose, John. Now that he has passed will see if they consider putting him in the HOF. I am thinking it would have to go through Rob Manfred before going to the Veterans Committee. For all his accomplishments on the field, he bet on baseball and that is a wrong that will keep him out of Cooperstown.
