With the way he was talking to Foyt and Petty, I am surprised he didn't have his ass handed to him.

You could Almost say that Michael Andretti looks quite pup faced in the photo, hopefully the Andretti family can win the Indy 500 in 2024, if they do it would be the first time they have been in the winners circle since 1969.

Kind of nice "home movie" viewing of the 60 years ago Indianapolis "500" race but...too bad for the audio...not the sounds of the '63 event at all except, chief track I.M.S. announcer - the late and great Tom Carnegie mentioning at least "the All-American famous Purdue University Marching Band" and "the Golden Baton Majorites". The mostly Offenhauser powered cars in the 33 car starting field with the two Lotus-Fords (Jim Clark and Dan Gurney) with the two Mickey Thompson Chevy powered cars, let alone the three NOVI V8's are sorely missing on this homemade film reel. That would have been cool...and, more cool yet, cuts from the WIBC 1070 Radio's, the late Sid Collis and his radio track men doing the audio. "Now, stay tuned for the Greatest Spectacle in Racing!" "This is the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Radio Network."

It's funny how all these old time players, including Willie Mosconi, would have absolutely no chance against the players of today. None. Zero. Mosconi would lose 9-0 against players like Van Boning.

I can't believe how they were talking about Petty and Foyt. 2 of the greatest drivers ever and may be putting their careers in jeopardy. Maybe your career in jeopardy Mr. journalist dickhead.

My favorite era of Indy! Famous drivers, fantastic racing and Bobby telling Sam he's all wrong! Not to mention, the great voice of Paul Page and the fantastic pit reporters! Good times! I posted this back when YT only allowed 10 min vids others have posted the entire race since.

This was from my post under a different channel of mine. What I wanted to say is how special it was in this year and the years before to arrive back home to NW Ohio after attending the Indy 500 just in time to load up our plates with Mom's fried chicken and plant our butts in from of the 25-inch Zenith and watch these tape-delayed races. An occasional spin or crash would elicit from us boys how "WE SAW THAT!", or a "Remember that?"! It would be just the 4th race after this, in 1989, that us Hunker men would arrive home in time for our terminally ill mother to take her last breath after she had waited until her men were all home. It was taken a long time to find reasons to go since then but I have been back 4-5 times.

I went to school with Pat's son John and when in HS john told me his dad had won the race when he saw I had the program in homeroom. This is the first time I have seen the race. He was a great driver from what I had read. I also as an adult worked with someone that raced pigeons with him. I am glad to finally see this race.
