I have a 3000 and 4000 and am trying the c-clamp + mallet but cant get the stupid sideplate to come off on the left-hand wind side. Its on there super tight. Unless the thread is reversed (other right-hand wind side plate came off easy counterclockwise). I've been using the mallet to pound the removal tool both ways and the sideplate just wont budge. Im afraid of using heat out of fear of damaging the o-rings and seals. This is such a PITA.... I may end up tossing this in the trash lol

@Jeremy Lee you should be pulling counter clockwise it's on there pretty tight u could try using a cheater bar and make sure that clamp is on tight

where do you grease or oil ? please SOS can i grease the main shaft? where the long vertical shaft enters the reel.

Yes grease is fine on the mail shaft you put oil on the bearings because it penetrates them while the grease does not

This is my go too combo for drop shot halibut fishing. 30 braid with a 16lb floro leader swivel. Only gripe is alot of vibration on the spool but other then that. Wonderful

Great vid. I was also at this hotel the first week of Nov 2019 fishing there too! Caught a few nice ones and gave them to the water sports guys and to the life guards on the beach.

LOL BTW the video looks like it was shot @ Captree State Park LINY @ the Overlook Pier. Been yrs since Ive been there. The Bridge in the back round holds some very nice fish. I used to walk down and fish there when I was a teenager. Caught plenty of nice Fluke!

Really a very educational video. Thank you. I was searching as to how to replace my Penn Fierce 4000 anti reverse bearing. But I just cannot get the pinion gear out with the bearing to replace a new one. Could you tell me how to get the pinion gear out along with the anti reverse bearing after removing the 3 hole retaining bearing holder? . May be there is lots of grit that does not allow me to remove it out freely. Your effort will be highly appreciated. Regards fro Antonio, Goa the state of India.

You can literally slide that entire assembly out after you take off those three screws and the plate that covers it. Underneath is a “stack” that includes a bearing in a sleeve, an anti reverse collar on a pinion sleeve, a spacer washer and another bearing all on the pinion gear. Let me know if you need more detail.

the resort was called barcelo bavaro punta cana dr and the fishing was inside the resort. i picked that resort exclusively for the water structures and it was def worth it

@@fishnlifts8575 I also noticed that they have a pier at the resort, can you fish from the pier? Have you tried fishing off the pier and did you have any luck fishing from the pier? Do you know if they have pangas that they can take you inshore fishing? Have you done any fishing from the pangas? Do you know much they charge? Thank you again for your help. It is much appreciated. @@richardhsi5503 you can fish from the pier but it depends on whay security guards are on duty most dont mind but a couple will kick u off the pier hold tons of small jack barracudas pompanos and other smaller fish. big jack crevalle do come in to feed on the smaller jacks so be prepared for big big jacks the have catamarans u can rant out but no anchor so only choice is trolling pangas (boats?) not on that beach u can book trips onling from other locations but most of it is trolling

@@fishnlifts8575 i replaced the rotor but I still can’t get my bail to click and stay open for casting. There was a lose piece of plastic when I took the arm off, perhaps it’s the bail arm? How can I be certain?

@@cigarinstructionwithdonant1277 you have to check the springs on the side of the bail its a little tricky but once you seat them right that bail should work.

no i have a 5 piece 12 foot rod and a 7 foot telescopic rodi just carry thwt on with me the plug i take in my carryon as well i do seperate the hooks from the lure just in case but so far no trouble

That vacuum works like magic. Mine was way to dirty to leave anything in it. It's only 10 gallon. But so dirty and stinky. I have two gold fish about 7 year old.
