Irish rail Regards freight as a nuisance from what I see. They turned down potential freight from Castlebar to Ballina from what I heard and no mention of it in Rosslare plans.

What’s interesting about this model is that every household illustrated but three have vehemently opposed Organic Sea Harvests plans to build these fish farms here. We have been fighting this expansion for years now, it has caused the communities of Flodigarry, Balmaqueen and Kilmaluag a great deal of stress and worry.

Yes, anytime I used the Terminal in the past it was a helluva walk from Train Station to Port. Only big bucks count it seems.

I think it is a good plan with a few flaws. Firstly, there is little mention of rail transport. I think the re-opening of the Rosslare-Waterford line would greatly increase rail usage in addition to a rail freight terminal. Also I think a new bus terminal could be looked at. Finally, you need to address how you could minimise noise pollution for locals.

Hi there, with the exception of the public realm future visioning, the purpose of the study was not to show what could go where in the the town but simply show the additional assets Mountrath needed as identified by people during the public consultation exercise. We could have chosen any location for the hotel but chose this site purely because it was a nice riverside location. We have identified a business opportunity for a local entrepreneur or established hotelier which would also be a valued asset for the town which currently does not have a hotel. Where such a hotel should go is up to the individual/s who may wish to take up this opportunity, which would obviously be in agreement with the local site/property owner.

Because there's minimum demand for it. Rosslare is a RORO and car port.

Only 1 train track runs through several parts of Dublin-Wexford line. The line itself needs to be expanded to 2 in my opinion

@@danmarj101 If they double tracked the section between Bray and Wicklow Town, that along with a proper motorway would be a good start! It seems odd that there's no mention of substantially improving this line in the new rail plan mentioned yesterday.

Please more trees and keep the grass. .great for outdoor yoga and just lying on in the sun ... Paving is cold. And can be dangetous. And slippy. It's a rainy nation we live in
