Anyone who wants to get rid of the crankshaft, don't know much about engines. The Crankshaft stores Kinematic energy and returns it to the piston immediately on the opposite stroke. The crankshaft is the best thing we have going for us. Any other idea that I have seen is worse than the Crankshaft.

The real question is, how much to replace the battery at end of life and will there be any replacements in production? That one thing is the bane of electric cars.

If the future demanded by regulators is electric why are so many trying to develope new ICE engines, if the climate clots get their way governments will ban the sale and use of fossil fuels ( PS , i hate ev's).

GM had a free -piston engine in its XP -700 show car. It was more efficient but abandoned due to noise.

Arranging a series of piston in "circular pattern", housed in "solid engine block" will RESULT in an imaginary "self running" FLYWHEEL!.; No iterruption of the "on-going" ROTARY DIRECTION of the "imaginary" FLYWHEEL motion- like the WANKEL engine... Its circular, unlike the Wankel engine, which have "triangular" configuration...

Why it's confusing? Instead of riding a bicycle directly, you are driving the generator to produce the the electrical energy which drives the same bicycle. In every transfer of the energy there has to be some losses., but it's not all, some parts of it it uses to charge a battery.

This system copied from Mitsubishi PHEV got two wet clutch. Latest Toyota hybrid with planetary gear and two motors is the best way to do.

Wow, 24kW would power up the vast majority of homes in he United States… ho much fuel does it burn in a 24hr period, and will it run on natural gas? You may be on to something much bigger than you think!

0% efficiency as it cant actually DO anything. make noise? check. make heat? check. make vibration? check. make useful power? bom bom, you lose. and its far harder to make a linear generator than people realise. look into flux density, reluctance, how to produce an efficient magnetic circuit... how to maximise the "rate of change" of magnetic flux and its linkage with a conductor... and as its reciprocating, you cant get an ALTERNATING magnetic field, either, all you can do is increase flux linkage, and reduce it... you cant REVERSE it, unlike a regular rotating generator... that immediately limits the power density achievable to half...

The great Eddie Hill said “nothing accelerates harder than my TF boat.” This from (at the time) the worlds fastest Top Fuel dragster driver! If you watch closely, you can see how water is just starting to settle at the start line AFTER the boat passes by the finish line. I wish they could pick up some good sponsors and bring in more boats! And drivers, because not all boat drivers want to get into one of these….
