Somewhere along the line, a marque became a brand. The Jaguar of yesteryear is long gone. My fond memories are of a 240, a 3.4 S-Type, a SWB XJ12, a 2.8 Sovereign... Not the coolest, but all lovely. Even thirty years ago, Jaguars were golf-club bragging tools for spivs and braggards. This century, that has been even more overt. Marques (brands) come and go: Riley, Singer, Wolseley, Daimler, NSU, Studebaker, Clyno, Sunbeam, Panhard... Jaguar died as a living thing many mergers ago. The issue is not the logo. An I-Pace is not a SWB XJ12. There is way too much bitterness and rage coming from the moaners. It's just what happens in large corporations. And it's been happening to Jagiar since long before they were a Ford brand.
