I hate to tell you but my dad shot the world record grouper in the Gulf of Mexico about 80 miles out at a platform I have pictures and all it was 287 pounds with a spear gun it make that one your holding look Iike a baby and I’m not lying this isn’t bullshit we let the game wardens identify the fish and they wanted to do some research on it because they estimated it’s age to be around 40 to 45 years old my dad ran a dive boat and knew where these big fish were and snd what times of the year and why they were at that same place every year around the same months but to say yours is a world record that is completely false I witnessed my dad bringing it into the boat got back to ramps and I saw the weight 287 pounds with a spear gun they had cut the head off with a chainsaw we had the biggest deep reese you could buy in the early 90s and we filled that full plus gave tons away just off that one fish.
