It's interesting the game has digitized sound effects but no music. Although the sounds were clearly designed to be played through internal PC speaker. Anyway, looking forward to Goblins II.

@Zolaeria - Try "Traders" on an Amiga or Amiga emulator some time (also Atari ST and Dos). It came out in 1991. It's definitely "like Mule" (to the point of ripping it off perhaps), but has some strange differences in the game including a Jabba the Hut kind of gang boss character called "Fat Mike" that you rent your land from. There's also the optional ability to attack plots of land in a min-war game to raid their resources (take that players that refuse to sell to me!) as well as build defenses to protect the land.

Yes, pretty much how it is. If they could have spent more time on making their VM be reassembled for whatever system it was running on, it could have been decent, but that would have been quite complicated! Or maybe they could have made a game that didn't need so much speed, more like their other adventure games but with some images, I could have seen that being a bit of a hit as well. Oh well, they made something really unique at least!

I doubt much of anybody will ever see this... but this video hits me very differently now that I'm 9 months into my own transition. I keep thinking about the struggles Dani must have gone through for hers, because back in the 90s when I first researched transitioning myself, it was very difficult to even get the most basic care. She ended up being shunned by much of the gaming industry, and backed away from creating games shortly afterwards. She even ended up regretting having SRS, a rarity amongst us trans women. I wish she could have been with us longer and contributed more of her creative ideas to the gaming universe.

I do agree mostly with the lovecraft thingy, I dont think most of the gods would give offerings to humans. But you would REALLY benefit from a little self awareness and an "yes and" mentality. The lovecraft mythos has been written on for a long time, fiction of course, and there have been a lot of writers after lovecraft. To say that a thing is "wrong" and to just say "no" to an idea about a fictional universe shows a insane lack of imagination and a fear of change. There are a lot of gods that have showed themselves and given gifts to humans etc according to the mythos, only thing you do when you take a hard stance like this about a thing u dont know shit about is that ur going to be wrong. The burden of proof is not on me to prove whats real abt this fake universe and you cant prove yourself right so me saying that both are true is the correct stance on the matter.
@Zolaerla
@Zolaerla 2 ай бұрын
Axi says what comes to her mind. It's what some viewers find amusing in our videos. She has read enormous gobs of the stories, the William Hope Hodgson stories that Lovecraft vaguely based his stories on, and such. We're both more Hodgson fans than Lovecraft, but since Lovecraft made his lore "open source" so-to-speak, any angle with the stories is technically valid as you say, so long as you aren't making the Elder Beings act particularly friendly to mankind, because that's against the entire point.

@@Zolaerla I feel like there was some things gods had to do with people and it was very rare thus makes good stories or something, I havent read that much but everything hp lovecraft it seems there is a special person or a happening in human world, kind of making the gods care about humans if that makes any sense? I personally agree though that the gods wouldnt care to give humans anything if thought about it logically

@Zolaerla 2 ай бұрын
@@oliver1784 Nah, you're good, and allowed to disagree. I know all about being depressed, been working on that a lot recently. I hope you figure out how to deal with it, because sometimes the solution is not particularly obvious. The Cthulhu mythos stuff is fun to talk about and discuss, and I think that's the lasting power of what HP Lovecraft invented, regardless of his own personal issues. The overly powerful, mysterious, unknowable beings that more-or-less care nothing about anything we hold dear. That's the idea, and what's terrifying and fascinating. Beyond that, it's all stories about strange happenings and people losing their minds and going mad. Fun to read and discuss, great for games (like Arkham Horror), but I do not want to live in those stories!
