2:55 yesn't, An example is if you have 1100 strength and 1400 crit damage the damage multiplier is 180 compared to the balanced 182,25. Even with a somewhat big difference in numbers it's very similar. Now add the 50-100 extra stats as an example: 1100 strength and 1450 crit damage gives the multiplier 186 compared to the balanced (with 50 less stats) 182,25. 1100 and 1500 gives 192 compared to the balanced (100 less stats) 182,25. So yes it is good to have a *somewhat (not really)* balanced amount, however if another power (or any other source like reforge i.e. withered or armor reforge) gives more stats then it's probably worth using instead. Also, trying to keep it within 50 or 100 stats may give less stats and therefore is worse than more unbalanced stats. Another example with worse stats is 200 strength and 400 crit damage. The multiplier with more unbalanced stats is 15 compared to the balanced 16. However if you add just 30 stats because a certain setup like a power stone gives more, then the unbalanced has a multiplier of 16,5 compared to the balanced 16. Also even if there is an even bigger difference like 2000 strength and 1100 crit damage, then you may still deal more damage than the balanced because you are using something like withered, gdrag or a power which just gives more stats instead of balancing. Also a nice tip if you want to calculate if it's worth switching from perfect jasper to perfect onyx gemstones (aside from the price difference) is by multiplying your strength by 0,75 and subtract (25+12g) with g being the number of gemstones you want to swap. If the number is greater than your CD then it is worth swapping.
