I think that the fishing cap should rather be 6/7 as 5 seem a bit low as that killing scc every 1-2 minutes and i'd prefer to see it be 1 1/2-3m

5 sea creatures is ridiculously low. Not only will it make it harder to get into lava fishing for newer players (good luck to the fishing 26 people who cant one or even two tap their sea creatures), but its also gonna drastically reduce the already small returns you get from lava fishing, which will lead to a dramatic increase in prices in drops or items related to them (looking at you radioactive vial) A cap of 10 would be a good compromise

i think the fishing changes make a slow mindless skill into a slow annoyingly present skill, which is worse imo

Cap is good and bad. It’s not “hogging” it’s the best way to get fishing experience the fastest. The time won’t be too different but there will be a noticeable diff

can't believe this is so split, imo this will kill the skill and make it more dead than it already is. Crimson isle and worm fishing will be way slower and basically group fishing will be dead

As long as the fishing mobs can be oneshot and are in the path of casting the rod its fine, otherwise it slows down fishing way too much.

Im not just here to complain because barn fishing is gone, I think a personal sea creature cap is a good change, but if you're the only person on the whole server fishing, its a horrible idea to have a max of 5 sea creatures. This change would do well if they found a way to make it so each player actively fishing has an equal portion of the SC cap. Ex: 1 player gets 40, 2 get 20 each, 3 get 13, etc. Make it so that if you're alone, you can barn fish normally, but if there's more than 1 fisher, give them their own individual caps.

I can't wait for sweaty players to complain about some content being possible without hype, term or gdrag

it kinda depends on how much they reduce the scc hp by

a compromise could be the individual caps stacking if withing X amount of blocks so that even when you reach YOUR cap of 5 you can still fish straight for longer and fill the total "local" cap of everyone nearby. Also promotes more group fishing which was the problem with the current system. Maybe increase it to 10 so a full party can reach the total cap and make it less annoying having the individual cap.

Depending on how much less health and damage the sea creatures have i think this is a very good change as the fishing meta was already using hype after every catch to kill the mobs so it just makes it even easier to one hit lava sea creaturse. Only downside of this change is it makes lava fishing harder to get into for people without hype.

I am extremely against the fishing change. This means that worm fishing is dead and the nerf to crimson isle sc damage and hp means that we will have a flood of newbie fishers, similar to the juju non flood when the ender slayer requirement was only level 3. I feel that this change removes the feeling of lava fishing as an endgame or late game aspect and honestly makes me want to fish less than I already did. I was planning to get back into fishing, I guess not.

Fishinf change is terrible for crystal hollows having to kill sea creatures 3x as often makes an already yucky grind even worse for little to no benefit as crystal hollows servers barely deal with much lag

sea creature cap is just another bandaid fix like pests on garden. casual players might like it due to less lag but anyone fishing will just have a significantly worse experience. i've never had any noteable issues with sc cap and if someone is perma hogging you can just switch lobbies this change f**king sucks

I understand that this fishing update was made to counteract the lag, and I think it isn't a bad change at base value, but I think what the admins should be focusing on, in terms of fishing, is the terrible progression that fishing has up until around fishing 30. It is such a slow and tedious grind to do. In my opinion they should change how SC chance as fishing speed is given, making it a lot easier to get in the early game. For me when I started a new profile it would take like 10-15 seconds to get one catch, plus with terrible SC chance it would takes hours to get just a couple of fishing levels. I feel that after the foraging update releases, fishing will defiantly become the worst skill in the game, on progression standpoint. Otw the better mayors update is solid, and I can't wait for it to release!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fishing change is completely stupid as of now. The fishing grind to better gear such as magma lord armor is already long enough. I couldn't imagine having to do it 5 sea creatures at a time. I'm now going to grind to fishing 45 before the change as I just got back into fishing yesterday. Also mad because I bought mythic flying fish for 240m 10 minutes before watching this video lol. Keep up the good work
