I had a spare key made and it wouldn't work, the car cranks up but 1 or 2 seconds later it shuts off. It won't stay crunk

Man...I love this stove. I have an old Appalachian Stove 1981 vintage. It was actually a fireplace insert that I converted to a stand alone wood stove. I built a pedestal for it. It's a double wall stove with an envelope that goes bottom, top, back and sides with a blower fan that blows through the envelope...so that makes it really difficult to add a secondary air inlet anywhere except thru the door like you did. I'm gonna copy your design as the door is huge on this stove and I have room on both sides of the glass for draft knobs. I also want to do the glass wash like yours. This is awesome. How big are the air holes for the glass wash window frame?

There are plenty of the old fishers stove they were the Bear series I’ve got one 30 inches by 24 , 3/8 walls and top and bottom , bullet proof not real fancy looking but not bad by any means , adding the secondary burn tube will increase efficiency by 60 plus percent for minimal, cost if you have a drill some good bits , a chop saw , and a cheap welder , ever one knows some who has these items if you don’t yourself , pick up steel at a scrap yard for Pennie’s a pound , I have these things , and could put one together in an hour easily with no special. skills

I have had thieves try this five times in 7 years to open my c5 corvette's passenger door. I opened the door panel and locked the door with me inside the vehicle. I pulled the latch that the thieves tried to access with a coat hanger and the alarm went off when I opened the door. The rubber seal is insanely strong when the door is closed and no thief has managed to get a coat hanger into the door despite tampering with the rubber. Not only this, but there is almost no room to jam the rod down into the door because almost all of it is blocked. I do not believe it is possible to open the door without setting off the alarm and the rubber seal is insanely strong. It is like pushing against a house door with a car on the other side that is in park. I also eliminated any chance of the car getting stolen by putting a barrier around the whole device that is used to unlock the door. Now if the thieves ever get something down there, they will be bumping into a plastic case while staring at a camera. I also eliminated the lock cylinder's rod, so they will not be punching the lock to trick the car into opening the door for them.

Thanks for posting this video, probably explains what's happened to my BMW engine, I found the rocker lying in the cylinder head, I've just been out and tried to compress the lifter and it's rock solid...hopefully I don't have to remove the inlet camshaft because it only lifts out so far and jams up against it....BMW N52 engine

This might sound dumb but to remove all the lifters and rocker arms on both sides do I have to rotate the engine at all? Cause I know some of those lobes on the cams are pointed up and down.

While your doing this if you have a 3.7l or 4.7l built before the start of the 2005 model year...obtain 2005 and up rocker arms with the small directional hole in the top. They keep more oil in the lifter and it is less likely to pump up and spit the arm out. Also, check for bearing slop in the cam follower wheel. I have found two that had .010" free play.

Wow! NEVER EVER pry against the cam lobes. If you scratch them, then you are creating a friction point and causing wear on the lobe and roller. Instead, use a bent 10mm open end wrench between the spring and lifter and pry it up. And use a flat head or small pry bar against the rocker and head to pry the rocker back on.

Beautiful stove, especially with your gorgeous Elk in the window. You could really see just how good that secondar burn was doing, it was wonderful. With the secondary burn the fire dance is really powerful and mesmerising. Thank you for sharing your stove and updates, subscribed.

Just to add a couple of things, all mine were stuck and a couple were stuck so bad I couldn't free them so I used a heat gun, fill the casing up to the bleed hole with penetrating oil and apply heat via a heat gun, do not over heat it just enough evenly applied all around until the fluid starts to bubble, one popped up just from the heat & one needed tapping upside down on wood, check the check valve at the bottom of the piston, they sometimes come out, you can check by turning upside down and apply light pressure to the spring clip, you can generally tell by looking at it at eye level, if it is out it will sit uneven, then check the valve by turning it the right way up and fill it with penetrating oil then push the ball at the bottom gently down with a straight pick, the oil will drain out if everything is working correctly.

I'm sorry but a video titled "How to..." and you fail to explain ANYTHING about the setup gets a thumbs down. Now, if you titled it "WHAT electrolysis does to rust" that'd make more sense. This isn't a 'How to', it's a 'what happens'.

Always use NEW lifters, what you need are the springs and the seals contained in the new lifter that keeps your lifters pumped up with oil. Never start your engine without soaking your NEW lifters in oil overnight. Everything about this video is wrong and I will leave it at that.
@i_n_t_e_l_l_i_g_e_n_c_e81093 жыл бұрын
A new set of lifters American made and high quality Melling sells for about 85 dollars for a complete set on Rockauto (welcome to the future) or you can buy even half price cheap Chinese for under $50 dollar a complete set on Amazon which is still a far better option than attempting to rebuild old lifters with weak springs and brittle seals. This video should be removed, you are misguiding people and having them risk critical engine failure that can not be fixed with lifters alone.

I don't know how wise it is to put a screwdriver on the cam lobes, you can use a 10mm wrench with the open end bent at 90 degrees to pop them off at the lifter end. The hydraulic lash adjusters (lifters) only cost about five bucks each so no need to waste time disassembling them.
