Is it worth it?? How long does it take?

@user-bc4pv4lf3n we really enjoyed it. It's a pretty leisurely float. If you paddle the whole way, you would be done within an hour. If you float along, it would be a couple of hours. The areas of slack water are quite slow, though. I personally would do it again.

Thanks very much for sharing this video, gents! What a spectacular sky over the lake as the storm clouds parted. I love Radiant, have tripped down to it a couple of times via Wendigo but generally only have a 3-4 days for a trek, so haven't yet undertaken an extended trip like yours. Soon though ... Will be checking out the rest of the videos from this trip. Also plan to stay on this end of the lake on my next trip to explore those sections of the rivers. Take care!

Nice to see the cabin still there. In 1981 I snowshoed in from Shall lake and spent the night...28 below zero. Looks a lot nicer than I remember.

Hey! Planning a trip there soon, I've seen conflicting statements about where to park when you arrive. The booking info says to park at the access point and hike in (7 km?), did you just decide to go down a logging road to get there instead? Thanks!

Yes we did and parked well off the road. I have heard different conflicting information. It all worked out for us. It's a beautiful spot. Just need to paddle out for swimming. Enjoy!

Loving this video series! Was in the park at the same time as your group. (Different area) Definitely some wet and chilly weather, but I see you guys as always thriving and having a great time which is great to see! Erables and Maples are some of my fav's. I've never been to the cabin or up Maple Creek, until I do I will live vicariously through your videos. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the series!!

Great video! Agree with you that the ice out trip this year was tough. So much rain and windy days, makes everything a little harder when you're wet, cold and portages being slippery!! And a tip, if you want to keep your chair dry, just put a big garbage bag over it and then sit on it 😂

We camped at that last campsite before the portage on Kiosk you referred to at the beginning of the video. Headwinds and whitecaps were insane coming out of the creek we had to line our way from the portage to the site. Although it was pretty open and very windy, finding it vacant was a huge sigh of relief! Great video, looking forward to the rest of this series!

That lake can get pretty windy and quick! After a day like you had, that would be a huge relief! It is always a huge concern traveling through the large lakes. We have yet to be windbound, but I'm sure it's coming one of these days!

I think you said your trip was late May? How was the water temperature when you were standing in the creek? How do you manage to stay warm and dry after that or do u just suck it up? I know you were headed to a cabin to dry out but I guess if you were not then you would be wearing wet shoes and pants the next day?

Indian Pipe is not a mushroom, rather it is a true flowering plant (angiosperm) that lacks chlorophyll. They get their sugar by tapping into the roots of other plants.

Is that actually a Common Five-lined skink, maybe a juvenile at 7:05?

Could be, I'm not really sure. It looked like a salamander but now that you say that, very well could have been a skink. We have found them along the Mississippi before.
