I regretfully got rid of a ST-200 for a Srixon ZX7. The Srixon is just fine but it doesn’t have the same crush that my Mizuno has. I just ordered an ST-G 440 to get a Mizuno driver back in my bag. Thanks for the review.

David it appears you are using a lot of hands in your stroke whereas PXG say you need to keep the hands out of the stroke basically just rocking the shoulders. By the way I loved it and have already sold two to my students.

This is where I gotta disagree with you on your own game. Personally I think you would benefit from playing 8-PW in this club. It will absolutely make you a better golfer. You may struggle a bit at first, but it will force you to become a better ball striker. My first set of clubs were an off brand cavity back over 25 years ago. The sole width is narrower than the p7cb. I learned how to play golf with them as an 18 year old. I played on and off over the next 10 years and then stopped at 28. I’m 44 now and just got back into it. So I went out and got P790s in may of this year. Basically starting over like I never played. I’ve already gotten to the point where I need a change. I’m also someone who does better with narrower soles.People always talk about irons and handicap, but that’s not a good way to fit a person. Is it a starting point, absolutely, but it doesn’t mean if you’re a 10-12 handicap you can’t play certain irons. That 10-12 handicap may lose their strokes on the tee box and chipping and putting, but may be good with their irons. These irons definitely aren’t for everyone, but the beauty of the new 770 and the CB is they make a perfect blended set. People just need to determine if they play a full set or 4 in 770 and then CB or a more blended set switching at the 6,7, or 8 iron. It’s always good to challenge yourself. If you don’t, you’re probably not gonna get much better and if you do, it will be a much slower progression

Is the grip critical to the balance of the putter
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 7 күн бұрын
Good question. Some grips are heavier than others, so that can affect the overall weight of the putter, and, if you go with a super-heavy grip, it's possible to create a counterbalanced putter. However, a heavier or lighter grip should not affect toe-hang or the how the face orients itself as you swing. - DD

Can you compare the V grind to the A+ please? Thanks! Great content
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 7 күн бұрын
The A+ Grind is a mid-bounce option with a wider, contoured sole, making it ideal for players looking for a smooth, fast feel through the turf, particularly on square-faced shots. In contrast, the V Grind offers high forward bounce but incorporates heel, toe, and trailing edge relief for better versatility on open-faced shots, catering to steeper angles of attack and softer conditions. - DD

This might be a stupid question but what are the ranges that are considered “mid handicap” or “high handicap”
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 9 күн бұрын
It's a good question because I think a lot of people have their own ideas on it. For me, I'd consider a mid-handicap golfer to be between 10 and 20. Those players are shooting in the low 80s to mid-90s. They know what they're doing, but struggle with some things. I'd classify high-handicap players can being a 21 and higher. They shoot in the mid-90s on their good days, but often are in the 100s. New golfers are in this group. These players lack consistency, they don't card more than one or two birdies a year and they need all the forgiveness they can get from their equipment. - DD

How do you define “zero torque”?
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 9 күн бұрын
Good question. The way bands are using the term, it means toe-up balance, or a club that is weighted and balanced in such a way that the face stays square to the arc you are swinging on. If you let the putter rest across your hands, without hold it or turning it, the toe will naturally go up. - DD

Is there a suggested swing speed, to prefer these to rescue/hybrids?
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 9 күн бұрын
The best way to determine whether a driving iron or a hybrid is better for you is to work with a custom fitter and hit shots using a launch monitor to see the difference in distance and ball flight. Broadly speaking, the slower you swing, the more likely a hybrid will work better for you. - DD

Thanks, but in absence of a fitter, I'd like to know if a driver's 90mph swing speed could work with this intriguing driving hybrid, or if it would be better to stick with my gamer rescue...

I gave the 2019 spider putter a try and I could never get the feel down, the face was super hot and I felt like I was putting with a rattle snake and went back to my trusty Cameron putter. Six weeks ago I decided to give the new Spider model T3 a go, and I am so glad I did. What a great putter and after 16 years of using a Scotty Cameron and the last four with the square back model I have now gone to the Spider, the face is perfect and not as hot as the earlier version and will definitely be in my bag for years to come. In the short time I have used it I have dropped some bombs with it and feel like I can’t miss with it from five feet. I never thought I would ever use a mallet putter but I am glad I gave it another try.

Great content, thanks. Subscribed. One suggestion, you have a professorial vibe which is kinda missing on YT golf content and could be your niche. Lean into that vs. as many shots of you hitting balls. Diagrams, angles to show turf interaction on the grind, etc. You talked through these things and it was very well articulated…but probably more for people who “get it” already. But imagine if instead of talking about the toe/heel relief and opening the wedge, you showed it from address, then the turf, then the result, while you explained it verbally.

I tend to get steep but play in both firm and soft conditions. Currently I like the versatility of my Callaway Jaws X Grind. Love the Vokey look though - the V Grind seems similar to the Callaway X with more bounce combined with heel and toe relief. Would you say that’s correct? If not, which Vokey might be comparable to the Callaway X? Thanks!!

@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 16 күн бұрын
They’re two very different clubs. The T is a low bounce option. It’s ideal for very firm conditions or when there’s very little sand in a bunker and you don’t have to worry about digging. The V is for soft conditions and fluffy sand, so you’re talking about two completely different clubs. -DD

@@jaychu3850 V Grind has 10 degrees of effective bounce. The M grind that I play now (which my understanding is a low bounce D grind) is 8 degrees. But my question was about the shaping. It sounds like the V has MORE effective bounce on the back side compared to the M and maybe less than the D?

I am playing Paradym irons currently and playing the best golf of my life (high 70s/low 80s). In what research I’ve done it seems like moving up to the Ai 200s would be a lateral move, thus my interest in the TiFs. Can you give me a short comparison and thoughts on these three clubs and my idea of moving from Paradym to TiF? Thanks in advance.
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 19 күн бұрын
Apex Ti Fusion will create more spin, so if you want to intentionally shape shots up, down, left or right, the Apex Ti Fusion will do that more easily. The Apex Ti Fusion also has a shorter blade length, thinner topline and more narrow sole. Apex Ti Fusion will have less offset, but the Paradym will be more forgiving on mis-hits and will have a larger sweet spot because the face is larger. - DD

Hey David, I hit these at the PGA Superstore the other day. I am at Callaway loyal player. I have the 2021 MB irons which are really awesome but I’m not playing as much anymore and need a little forgiveness. The Ti fusion irons are amazing. It was great to look down at with thinner top line and smaller club face. My dispersion and ball speed were amazing and miss hits still retained ball speeds that I need. I am totally obsessed now and need a set. The price is steep, but I’m going to trade in my irons and sell a couple of other clubs to make this work. They are just an awesome set of irons. Oh and the all black looks amazing.

No mention on the PXG is always expensive, but no mentions price. Just review the club on performance and if people can afford it, great. Price is up to the person.
