Great video David! I am getting fitted to a new driver. I have a slow (85) swing speed and am going to get either the Callaway Elyte max Fast, the Cobra MaxK, or the Gen 6 XF. How do you feel they compare?

I’m only 5’9. Got fitted for the broomstick and I was much better being in a more vertical setup. Like Bernard Langer . I was fitted for 44.5 length and 79.5 lie angle. It’s been awesome making way more putts .

Hi David loved your Video (excellent full description of the AVX Ball)👍Please tell me why Titleist are spending money trying to improve this Ball?, it’s a dud, a pup, a turkey, a dead parrot 🙈,(even its name is a disaster) only a handful of golfers are going to pay the same price when they can get a super Ball the ProV1 or ProV1X at the same price, the new cover looks cheap “the printing” doesn’t follow the seam, like the proV1s, I’ve subscribed to the channel, and will check your other Ball reviews Thanks Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer UK

I'm a high handicappers golfer I'm looking forward to buy my 54 and 58 degree wedges, I use wedge selector key from vokey and they recommend me with to use 50 degree F grind, 54 D grind and 58 S grind I'm in Indonesia and most turf here are medium-soft, so I'm aiming for ATS and ATX/ATW club Is ATX is hard to use? And do you think I should have 54 with ATS and 58 with ATX or ATW?

I am currently playing the TSR2+ 3 wood off the tee as a driver replacement. I can only say that I hit almost every fairway and am much more accurate. My years-long battle against the slice with different drivers is over. Perfect for me and my swing.

LAB putters: If you aim for the hole and swing towards the hole - the ball will…..go towards the hole. You can also use a broomstick to demonstrate ‘$600 lie angle balance’. 1. Aim straight 2. Pull back straight 3. Follow through straight 4. Ball goes ……..(you guessed it) ….straight !!!
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 4 күн бұрын
But that's the misconception .... no one swings back straight or follows through straight. You might think you do, but putters can't have a lie angle of 90 degrees (straight up and down); the USGA and R&A Rules state putters can't have more than an 80-degree lie angle. So unless you manipulate your hands, wrists and forearms on your backswing, the putter head is going to move back on a slight arc. It may be very small, but it's there. And from 10 feet out on a dead-straight putt, if the putter face is pointed left or right by more than 1 degree at impact, the bal will miss the hole. If golfers could do what you're describing, that would be great, but no one can. - DD

The GT280 does look fantastic even though I don't think that mini drivers are all they are hyped up to be, maybe they are perfect for elite golfers with super fast ball speeds like Cam Young but they won't be anywhere near as versatile as fairway woods for 99.99% of golfers.

I think this club is designed for a very specific swing style. Not every golfer feels comfortable swinging a 45in lower lofted club on an up trajectory. Something like this fits the golfers that are good iron strikes and allows a more sweeping or even slightly down angle of attack to not feel like their swing is out of wack. Just my two cents.

@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 6 күн бұрын
In other mini drivers, brands direct fitters to use a standard 3-wood shaft, but companies make the hosel longer to add an extra 1/2" or so in finished length. Titleist 3-woods come standard at 43" and drivers come standard at 45 1/2", so I suspect the mini driver will be around 43 3/4". - DD

One thing I wish Callaway would change is the massive cutout for their shaft fastener. They've been exactly the same for a decade now. If you top a golf ball, the sharp edge of the cutout slices a chunk out of your golf ball. They should at least chamfer the edge to prevent this.

I've been playing TM mini drivers since the first one, the TM SLDR came out more than a decade ago. As my driver swing speed has slipped below 100mph--I'm 65--the difference between it and my driver has diminished. There will soon be a time when I will dump my driver completely because I hit the Mini so much more accurately.

It's definitely different than what a couple of the prototype versions floating around on tour looked like but I think they did a great job in making something different than the TM and Callaway options. If it does hold up to that 280cc size it would be smaller than both the TM and Callaway options and I think it would be significantly better off the deck and I think this is the approach they went with this head. I do use mine (callaway mini) primarily off the tee for places where I could go through the fairway or where hitting a driver puts me in really tight spots. I also hit it off the deck a lot on the longer 600+ yard par 5's where I can go for there green but that isn't as common (I really love to hit it off the deck though). Definitely an interesting club and I can't wait to try it if I get the opportunity.
@luvamystery
@luvamystery 2 күн бұрын
The head size of the Original One mini (275cc) is the reason I've kept it in the bag over the others. I can hit it off the deck at that size.

Likely much lower CG and adjustable MOI and independent adjustable loft and lie. Just a much more modern head with much more forgiveness and more ability to tune launch conditions for a golfer with consistent delivery

@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 7 күн бұрын
Tour Soft will feel softer at impact, but AVX will spin significantly more on approach shots and around the green on chips and pitch shots because it has a urethane cover. From a performance standpoint, I'd go AVX. - DD

I find it absolutely bizarre that none of the 'big three' mini drivers from TM, Callaway and now Titleist have no draw/fade weight options or a track in tne head. The whole point of good golfers wanting this option is to have a strong club that can potentially shape the ball, especially since modern drivers are quite hard to draw off the tee. Seems like a missed opportunity to me.
@DavidDusek
@DavidDusek 7 күн бұрын
I'm not a club engineer, but I assume the thinking is that golfers who would be in the market for mini driver because they want something off the tee that is easier to shape is can hit draws or fades using their swing. A club like this needs to hit to a specific distance (hence the up-and-down adjustability) more than it needs left-and-right adjustability. - DD
@MichaelM-to4sg
@MichaelM-to4sg 5 күн бұрын
A skilled golfer and consistent ball striker does not want added heel or toe weighting. We tune launch conditions by adjusting MOI via fore/aft weight adjustments. I personally find shaping a drive with modern driver, TSR3 in my case, is very easy. I have the back weight in middle of track and swapped with 6g weight, std is 8 or 10g iirc. I have 4.5g lead tape along width of sole at forward section, just behind face. This weighting was entirely developed and tuned by swingweighting to D3.5 and launch conditions tracked on a monitor. While I have tried my son’s QI10 Max and found it MUCH more difficult to control launch conditions, even that is tunable by swapping weights to reduce MOI. The higher the MOI for head, the more difficult will be to shape flight conditions I will add that prior to adding lead tape to my driver, I tried adding a weight plug to shaft and it was like a completely different driver, despite it being a perfect for me D3.5 swingweight. My dispersion was poor and face angle at impact inconsistent. Moving weights laterally on head can be effective if you’re consistent hitting that end of head, ie your misses toward toe should have sliding weight toward toe, otherwise it commonly adversely effects timing for golfer resulting in inconsistent face angle at impact.

Which one would you recommend more for people newer to golf? Want the most forgiveness but it seems they are both extremely similar in that regard?

@DavidDusek 7 күн бұрын
Not not trying to avoid the question, but their performance should be close enough that a player's visual preferences should play a big part in the decision. The Oz.1i will have a more "clicky" sound and feel firmer. That could be good or bad. The DF3 looks non-traditional, but golfers who are new to the game may not have preconceptions about what a putter has to look like. - DD

The custom Oz is offered two ways, with the forward press or “onset” and without. The press version is made to use the LAB grips, and the NON-PRESS version allows the use of all the other standard grips. I have a DF3 and if I would put a regular grip on it, I would be having to forward press with my hands, adding variability (this is the main advantage I am getting out of the LAB technology). I love mine and want either a custom DF3 or OZ.

I have had a Mezz1Max since April. I have had five back surgeries, so I wanted to be as upright as I could be, and feel like I was still able to control the putter face. I'm 6'2" tall, and after much back and forth with Lab (and even a Facebook conversation with L.A.B. owner Sam Hahn) I decided on 50" and 79.5 degree lie angle. I have experimented with many grips and have finally settled on kind of a saw grip. As wi1th all putters and putting techniques, nothing is foolproof, but I feel comfortable with where I am with my stroke now I am anxious to see the new OZ.1i, and may look into getting one when they start doing the sweeper version, but we'll see.

Very similar in the way it swings. The biggest difference is the White Hot insert, which many golfers love. The Versa alignment stripes in the Jailbird also help align the face very, very easily. To me, the Square-2-Square has a softer feel than the PXG Allan, which for some golfers is good and others not so great. - DD
