Thanks! Sorry it's taken a minute to get back. The planes stop at around 10 pm and don't start til about 7am - the big planes make the most noise. We slept well, except for the hard mattress. Get a mattress topper!

Hello there. Thanks for watching and writing. It's not "loud" all the time. Yes, there is noise because it's close to the airport, but you hear it on big plane landings and takeoffs. I found that the sounds weren't distracting and part of the charm of staying near Maho Beach. Big planes don't start landing until after 9 a.m. and usually stop around 5 p.m., so there are no worries about interrupting nighttime sleep. I was able to take a nap at the adults-only pool without being awakened as well.

Hey there! Thanks for watching. I believe high season is mainly from November through July. August through October are lower because of potential hurricanes. We did make reservations at the restaurants to get good times. I know there were some walk ups but I would suggest trying to book dinners. If you do the buffet (which is mixed with adults and kids), you can go anytime. I hope you have a great trip!

Also, don’t forget the adults only beach pool in the back. Stay hydrated because it is VERY warm with humidity. Also, ask for some extra pillows to help with the bed!

Hello there. Thanks for watching. I enjoyed Maho Beach. It is small, and you have the planes coming over, but it's fun. It's not a typical "laying out" beach. There are plenty of other beaches on SXM where you can do that. But Maho is refreshing. Lovely clear water and soft-ish sand.

Hello there and thanks for watching. We flew into Punta Cana and booked our transfer through Viator. It was a private van that cost $400 for a round trip. It was almost two years ago, so the price might have gone up. I know there are cheaper options with the bus, but less comfortable. You could also fly into Santo Domingo and book a shorter transfer. There are limited flights into Samana airport. That is also an option. Let us know what you find.

Thank you so much for your update! It has been two years since I was there. I think they were supposed to bring it back to a full all inclusive. Have they done it? I know it was closed for repairs some time last year too.

Hi there. Here's what we did. My wife booked a transport on Viator from Punta Cana airport to Samana. It was a four-hour ride to get there, but it was comfortable. Samana has an airport but few flights, and Santo Domingo airport is only a two-hour ride. Bahia has changed the resort since this video. It is now a Grand that is not currently all-inclusive. I've heard rumors that they might change it back. They also have another resort across the bay called Cayo Levantado. The hotel was booked directly on the website. I hope that helps. Hello and thanks for asking. There was not a hot tub at the Edge Pool and I don't remember one at the Point Pool. I think there may have been a hot tub area at the All Ages area. It stays warm here so I'm not sure if it was an oversight or just a design choice. Thanks for the comment. Sorry it took a while to respond.

Hey there. Thanks for watching! The resort is all-inclusive, so all food and drink are included except for a supplement or two. We enjoyed all of the selections on the Adults only side. There was Italian, Mediterranean, and more. The buffet was excellent for lunch (that was for both sides of the resort). Azul, on the adult side, has a breakfast buffet, and it is adorable. If you are going in January, most of the places outside of the resort will be open. There are other dining options if you want to pay, but I'd say the food is lovely at the Sonesta. You can save your money unless you are going around the island and would like to try some local fare. We went to the French side for a bit, and there are some great spots there. Check out the bakeries for breakfast and lunch if you are going to rent a car or take a taxi. There's also a casino across the street. We didn't go, but we aren't big gamblers. It's pretty popular. Every night, there is something to do on-site. There's either a band, silent disco, karaoke, or something interactive to do. There are other activities on the strip outside and in Phillipsburg. Yes. The signs should point you in the right way. Make sure you ask one of the workers if you have an issue. Sometimes they shift traffic depending on how busy the airport is. Thanks!

@@KendallB I’m home now. I had to go up stairs to check in, then back down and around to the SUPER long TSA line where the security check took longer than regular security. What’s the point of getting the TSA designation if we still need to take off our shoes? Add to that, I got selected for the pat down 🤦‍♀️ Did not enjoy my airport experience. TSA pre check didn’t save me one second at DIA. Now DFW? 5 min, in & out. If that was “faster”, I’d hate to see the regular line. Sheesh!

I think it's a different room because of the extra room and the view. You might want to call and check. It has been a while since I was there so they might have changed designation.

Thanks for writing. We visited in 2021 and did not have a bug issue at all, aside from the natural life. If you leave windows open, sure there will be a chance for certain bugs to enter the room, but that could be anywhere. Enjoy the trip!!
