I think its kind of unhandy that when you press pedal 9 for the tuner, yu turn it on. You have to press it again to turn it off however the light on pedal 9 is still lit up. Can you also assign the second value to a scene pedal so that you press pedal 1 it goes to the preset corresponding to pedal 1 (A-H) AND go out of the tuner?
@SimonCLees4 күн бұрын
@redmarvandersluys9691 I honestly don't know mate. I guess if Neural made a similar pedal to the FCB1010 they could include a setting to address this issue but it would probably cost a lot more.

Great video. Thanks. Similarly I don’t want to have to have the QC on the floor in my studio (clumsy people will absolutely tread on it, kick it, spill on it). Looks like a great answer to that for not a lot of money. Plus now I have a reason to learn about MIDI :)
@SimonCLees10 күн бұрын
@robyates136 Thanks for your kind comment, Rob. Much appreciated! Yeah, I'm not a MIDI expert, but I managed to figure this out using advice from another KZbin video. I just felt the video I watched could have explained things a bit more thoroughly, so I made my own!

@@SimonCLees Got mine programmed up last night. Took a few "step-by-step' interations before I got the hang of it. Had to recalibrate the expression pedals in the FCB1010 (weren't going to zero) too which was a faff. But I have it set up nice now. Bank 00 is 1234 mapped to ABCD, 6789 to EFGH, 5 is Tap Tempo, 10 is Tuner toggle (using CNT1/CNT2). Exp pedals activated in all patches. Bank 01 is all modes 1 > PRESET , 2 > SCENE, 3 > STOMP, 4 > Gig Mode toggle. Am sure in the future I'll find more things to program up but for now it works excellently as a remote + exp pedals for the QC. Wish the exp pedals were spring-loaded but can't have everything.
@SimonCLees10 күн бұрын
@robyates136 great stuff, mate. Spring-loaded expression pedals would be a pain for me cause I need to control the drive amount for different songs using EXP B. Would be a pain too if you used one for volume. Wah would be good, though.

Great vis Simon. How does the quad core and behringer compare to your boss multi fx, has it replaced it?
@SimonCLeesАй бұрын
Thanks Andy. It's a different world mate. And it's expanding all the time. I'm not utilising anywhere near the full potential of the Quad but it is a fantastic tool. My mic and backing tracks go through it too so I don't need a separate mixer. Just connect my speakers directly to the Quad. I can add effects to my vocals and theoretically I could pitch shift my backing tracks and guitar if my voice gets tired and I can't hit the high notes. Haven't tried that yet so it might sound crap but if it works it'll be amazing!
@andyo-southpawguitaruk5322Ай бұрын
@@SimonCLees cheers Simon. So true , there are many to choose from aswell it's hard to know where to start with it, especially the ampless rigs yet still needing a speaker of sorts, haven't braved the move into investing I. It yet, I've got as far as bias fx on pc

Hi mate, you had any experience with the Boss GX-100? looking at upgrading my old GT6, love the clean sounds on the GX-100, but not seen any decent reviews of the heavy playing with it. I am into the Real Heavy Engl kinda sound. Love the touchscreen and simplicity of the GX-100 too. I also saw Boss have been releasing patches for it with more sounds, not sure if that is more amps. Just wondered if you have tried one or not bud.
@SimonCLeesАй бұрын
@SkjoldrUK I've never come across that machine.. if I was gonna buy a Boss multi fx pedaboard for live use I would go for a used GT10. The setup is the same as what I've described in this video. If you were to use it with an amp just disable the Preamp section. Having gigged extensively with the GT5, GT8 ans GT10 I can say Boss peaked with the GT10. If you're gonna FRFR then just stick to the Jazz Chorus amp setting and the RAT distortion.

just get an IR cab pedal and put it in the fx loop of gt100 or at the end of gt1, it works wonders, makes a decade old unit a modern one again.

That is a great method. You should explain why it works. Correct me if I am wrong, but if the 4th does not work, moving it up 1 half step makes it the 7th, helping you find the new key.

This little story may come as something a bit curious from the other side of the world. About 15 years ago, more or less, i bought a guitar magazine with some tracks from "guitarist of the year" . Among all the material on the cd that came with it I've heard this interesting blend of reggae and rock, a tune with very cool ideas. It got stuck in my ear for about a year and then decided to learn it. After a while I was demonstrating that riff and melody to my own students, trying to dare them to play and write something that mixes styles, as a little departure from the comfort zone. That song was "crab racing" by you Simon. I always wondered what became of you, and why I never found a proper album with more original music from you. For whatever is worth, "crab racing" is being taught to some students in the remote country of Chile, in South America. Sometimes we write music and have no control on how it will affect people. Crab racing is a song that i keep coming back to for teaching and just for the pure fun of playing it. Well done man!

Hi Adele - obviously that is slightly limiting but there are plenty of things you could play without using your little finger. I would reccomend exercises to try and develop your little finger and train it to do what you need it to do.

Seriously, in 2023 if I went to an event and a 3 piece band came out of the gates like this I think my head would explode! No backing tracks, no auto-tune, just 3 genuinely talent people who have put in the hours and are ripping it up. Sure, its an electric kit but that's the way the venues are nowadays with sound levels etc. but I don't care, this is so kick ass, I f*cking love it!
