Love Randy. Saw him a few times, last in 2023 and his solo ministry is beyond amazing. Excellent guitar writing vocals. But whoo this era of his music was atrocious! Lol😅

Much better than the Dana Key version I found soon after I was adopted into God’s family, though I really liked that one too!

My friend John Stamp and I helped Norman set up on stage at the greenbelt festival. U2 also performed. I can't remember what year but I do remember how humble a person he was. He was a brilliant musician but massively down to earth. My musically trained friend Andrew stanway asked him if he played the guitar and he said he played a bit!!

I wish I knew who everyone is lol I think the lead person singing is Karen, obviously I can tell who the mother is and the one playing the piano is Twinkie? lol I just watched their lifetime movie but I do not know any by face really 😩 and might I add they are very very talented 🙌🏾

There is an excellent remixed studio version of this song at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXelZqitp8yGhacsi=Kf9ovDTryctjioRr However, some of the lyrics provided on that video are wrong, eg 'you'll be DEAF before your'e 33' (it should be DEAD!).
@josephnelson2591Ай бұрын
The Only Visiting This Land lyric sheet gives the line as "deaf".
@johnplater2805Ай бұрын
@@josephnelson2591 Perhaps that is a typo. Drinking, smoking and taking drugs probably wouldn't cause deafness! My understanding is that the song is about Janis Joplin, and Larry was concerned that her lifestyle was killing her, which it did when she was 27 years of age. The phrase 'you'll be dead before you're 33' seems to be alluding to Jesus, who was about 33 years old when he was crucified.

People keep trying to put Larry Norman down, and they have plenty of opportunity to do so, but on the other hand, Larry Norman shows how great the love of Christ is. That is bigger than all those millionaires, or billionaires, who now support Trump. What a mess!

MWB were around when Christian music was so much better than today-in my opinion anyway. Had the pleasure of seeing them back in the very early eighties in Hayward’s Heath and having a really good chat with Chris Eaton afterwards the gig. Lovely guys and and a great witness for the Lord through their ministry. Halcyon days indeed!
