However, much is to be regarded and noted about Dr. Mattie Moss Clark as an American Heroine and trailblazer. I think it's understated or even sometimes overlooked the fact that women like her were the first to independently establish themselves and their reputations in American music. As a composer, teacher, choir director, and musician, Mattie Moss Clark, by her own accord and agency, made a significant impression on American Gospel Music, which was then further innovated by her daughters (all female). That's all I was saying.
