What front discs are you using ? With decent fluid and pbs pads you should be lapping 15-20 minutes easily before any brake fade. I run braided lines, pbs, and a relatively cheap dot4 fluid (no cooling ducts) and suffer very little fade. My discs are brembo high carbon. The only other suggestion is ease off on the brakes and use more engine braking? That track only needs a handful of hard stabs on the brakes and the rest can be managed with the gears 👍
@tehxman1164 жыл бұрын
I also run Brembo HC discs. I really do think it's the pads that can't cope. On that particular day it was very hot though so maybe it was just down to the conditions. I definitely don't think I'm braking too much

Callum Jones i don’t really know what to suggest mate, there’s something not quite right (I can only compare it to mine to be fair). Have a look at one of my vids and you’ll see these cups can go quite a lot longer than a few laps. The other mod I have is a nut and bolt bias valve on the rear beam to bring the rears a bit more into play, literally 10% more mind. The feredo I found went soft a lot faster than pbs, haven’t tried others but don’t be too keen to ditch the pbs as the bite and longevity is second to none. Maybe try ducts next ?

@@gazb9895 I've just checked out your videos. A couple of things that I've noticed. You're coasting before you get on the brakes and you're braking earlier. Those two things will make quite a big difference to the amount of heat being generated. So I think it depends on each individuals driving style as what brake setups are or aren't working

Do you have a stiff rear anti roll bar or is it just that slippery?
@tehxman1165 жыл бұрын
I have a Whiteline arb on the softest setting. The car setup is quite neutral. It's just really slippery!

Very nice! I'm taking my gt4 there this summer. How's your car setup geometry wise? I currently have -2 deg front -1.5 rear and little toe out front pretty much 0 rear.
@tehxman1168 жыл бұрын
Awesome man! And thanks :) You'll love it at the Nurburgring. Geometry wise I run zero toe front and rear. With Tein springs on the stock suspension setup I get around 1.5 degrees negative camber on the fronts. Also, I've got a Whiteline roll bar on the rear and on the middle setting out of three the car tends to oversteer under trailbraking. Do you have coilovers?

Hey! I used a Hero 4 silver with a gooseneck attachment. As my roof liner is stripped out I've got a flat helmet mount glued to my roof, and the go pro hanging down from that :)

tinoushgtr Think I used 4 different laps! And thanks :) I haven't been able to go back to the Nurburgring yet and I'm having serious withdrawal symptoms! What made you want a change from your GTR?

Not bad at all without the passenger and a bit of tidying up you could get that beast into the 7 minute region. I have an st205 myself but too scared to take out to the ring!

I guess but living in Europe must be awesome you have race tracks and beautiful roads , i can't really make use of my car here , what mods have you done to your car ?
@tehxman1168 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a great place to be for tracks that's for sure! The roads in the UK are questionable though... Mod wise the car is pretty standard. Tein lowering springs, polybushed rear arms, boost controller at 1.1bar, Fidanza flywheel, 3" straight through exhaust, then I've fully stripped it :)
